Quick Start Guide BT-5630v2 / BT-5830v2 Modem Wi‐Fi usage summary Enable Wi‐Fi: Check this box to start the Wi‐Fi services, uncheck to stop the services. NOTE: Any changes do not take effect until the service has been restarted SSID: This is the broadcast name of the Wi‐Fi access point. Default value = [complete device serial number] Encryption: This is the encryption level for network authentication. The unit can operate in mixed mode, meaning it can authenticate both WPA and WPA2 clients simultaneously. Passphrase: This is the password that a user will enter on their Wi‐Fi client to establish their connection to the access point. Mode: This is the Wi‐Fi Mode selection: This unit supports Mode B and Mode G only. Channel: Wi‐Fi channel that will be declared for all transmissions. Broadcast: This will determine if the SSID is publicly broadcasted. Default = SSID will be broadcast and publicly viewable Empty: Do not broadcast any SSID info and ignore probe Clear: broadcast a clear SSID of the same length and ignore probe requests Max Clients: This will determine the maximum number of Wi‐Fi clients allowed to connect simultaneously to the access point. Quick Start Guide BT-5630v2 / BT-5830v2 Using AT Commands to manage your device: To issue AT commands to the unit you must connect to the device via a telnet session to 192.168.0.1 on port 6070 using a terminal emulator such as: HyperTerminal, TeraTerm, SecureCRT, etc. Once connected you can test this by issuing ATI1 to retrieve modem info.
