Install the batteries in the chamber as indicated by the polarity symbols (= and -) marked inside. When charging only 2 batteries, use either the two left or two right chambers. Lift the prongs of the AC plug until the plug snaps into place. Plug the charger into a standard AC outlet. Push the one-touch on/off button to start the charger. The red "Charging" LED will light during charging. The green "Done" LED will light when batteries are finished charging. Unplug the charger from the outlet and remove the batteries from the charger. For best performance, charge the batteries in an area between 59 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit (15 to 25 degrees Celsius). If the area is too warm, the batteries will not be fully charged. If the are is too cold, the batteries can permanently lose their ability to charge. Orientate charger in a vertical or floor mount position. It is normal for batteries to become warm while charging and is no cause for alarm. Batteries self-discharge (lose their charge) at the rate of 1/2 to 1% per day when not in use.
