PRELIMINARY AA9300 INTEGRATED CCD IMAGE SIGNAL PROCESSOR WITH EMBEDDED FLASH DESCRIPTION The AA9300 is a multi-chips package which integrates DSP, AFE(Analog Front End), VD(Vertical Driver) and Reset (Voltage Detector with Delay) parts. The DSP is for CCD signal processing with a CCD timing generator and video encoder with two 10 bit DACs. It supports general 510H/760H CCD CMYG color filter array and all signal terminals those are to interface the CCD. The AA9300 adopted several algorithms to image quality improvement and resolution and it can be adjusted by internal registers. It is provided with AE/AWB functions, dynamic range enhancement and adaptive digital noise filter. A better image processing algorithm can be adopted through firmware upgrade owing to built-in FLASH memory. Besides, external EEPROM for parameter storage is needless. It provides a superior flexibility for gamma processing, H/V aperture and color space conversion which are implemented using parameter and filter coefficients download method. Many external interface protocols are also supported; those are SPI master/slave, UART, I2C master/slave, GPIOs, and so forth. The AFE is a complete analog signal processor for CCD application. The signal chain consists of a correlated double sampler (CDS), a digitally controlled variable gain amplifier (VGA), and a black level clamp. It offers 10-bit ADC resolution. It features a 25 MHz single-channel architecture designed to sample and conditions the outputs of interlaced and progressive scan area CCD arrays. The AA9300 also embeds a vertical clock driver with 3 levels of output voltage and a power reset generator to detect a fixed voltage at the power up or down procedure to generate a reset signal. There is a typical 150mV hysteresis range for different 3.3V system to prevent the system from crashing during power supply fluctuation.
