AKPL Capillaries Main Features 4 types of capillaries 2 different internal diameters 1 to 30 meters Stainless steel Applications Oil & Gas / Chemical Water & Waste water Energy Machinery Description Technical data Capillaries are used to mount pressure gauges, pressure switches or transmitters in a certain distance from the pipe or the tank. This can be useful to separate the instrument from high or low fluid temperature or vibrations or to mount the pressure gauge at a place with better visibility. It can also reduce the influence of pulsations on the instrument. Capillaries can also be used between measuring instruments and diaphragm seals. Max. pressure 1600 bar Max. temperature 400 °C Material Stainless Steel 1.4404 (316L) Length 1 m to 30 m Types see ordering details on page 2 The capillaries can be used without diaphragm seal, if the fluid does not attack 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel and the viscosity is compatible with the internal diameter. The value of the temperature reduction per meter of capillary depends on several conditions. A good estimation is a reduction of the fluid temperature of 100 K/m.
