Introduction
Vishay offers LEDs in a variety of surface-mount and leaded package types. Leaded LEDs are offered in 1.8 mm,
3 mm, 5 mm, and in square 4-lead TELUX packages. Standard and power LEDs are offered in packages with standard
PLCC-2/4 dimensions. Mini products feature a small white surface-mount package measuring just 2.3 mm (L) x
1.4 mm (W) x 1.2 mm (H). The next smallest package is the 0603, measuring 1.8 mm (L) x 0.8 mm (W) x 0.6 mm (H),
available in lead-frame- and PCB-based versions. The new 0402 series with industry-standard 0402-compatible
dimensions of 1.0 mm (L) x 0.5 mm (W) x 0.35 mm (H) is now the smallest package in the Vishay portfolio. The
1 W Little Star features footprint dimensions of 6 mm by 6 mm and a height profile of < 1.5 mm that is 17 % thinner
than a typical PLCC6 package. Vishay LEDs are ideal for applications such as instruments, switches, and icon
backlighting. The 0402, 0603, PLCC2-Plus, and Little Star white are ideal for all types of general and architectural
lighting. For general lighting applications a wide portfolio of lighting modules, including driver modules, is now also in
the Vishay lighting portfolio.
