The applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be observed. Safety instructions WARNING! Exposed, live cables. Danger of electric shock! Before installation, operation on dip switches or any maintenance work turn off the main switch of the installation. CAUTION! Destruction of the control unit and other devices through incorrect installation! • The control unit must not be opened. • The control unit is intended to be snap-mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail within an electrical cabinet acc. DIN 43880, in dry location. • The terminal connection areas shall be properly covered and not accessible. Areas other than the front cover face must be inaccessible. • Cables must be fixed in such a way that, in case of disconnection, they will not reach other contacts or metal parts. • Only connect to ballasts with a DALI compliant interface. • Do not connect any additional control unit or power supply to the DALI control lines. • Do not connect DALI/EASY/IN1-IN2 lines to mains, or any mains referred voltage or to any other external voltage. • Do not exceed the maximum number of electronic ballasts, or EASY components. • Respect relay contacts rating. Contacts are not suitable for lamp load. Use an appropriate external power relay and external safety fuse. • Do not wire IN1 or IN2 to other DALI EASY SO. 4 XI 2011 DALI EASY SO Safety Intended use The DALI EASY SO control unit may only be operated according to the ″Description″ section. All other applications are considered to be inappropriate use. If the DALI EASY SO control unit is not used as intended, there is no guarantee that it will operate safely. Intended use of relay (K1) As it is a mechanical device, relay output is not intended for frequent commutations. In case fast scenes recall cycles are needed, for instance in Light sequencer mode, decouple relay commutations from DALI outputs by setting dip switch 1 to ON. XI 2011 5 DALI EASY SO Description Description Function and application The DALI EASY SO controls indoor lighting systems and can be used to implement static scene in general lighting and dynamic lighting concepts. It enables manual and automatic control of up to four DALI luminaire groups on separate channels and one relay. Up to 4 x 16 lighting scenes can be programmed, called up individually or run through cyclically in up to 4 sequences. Operating modes DALI EASY SO has four operating modes: • Lighting control mode: Brightness is adjusted manually. Lighting scenes are recalled or stored manually. • Lighting sequencer mode: The stored lighting scenes are called up automatically one after the other (play sequence). • Daylight simulation: The lighting scenes are called up automatically to simulate light conditions as they change during the course of a day. Lighting scenes and cycle time (= duration of the ″day″) can be adjusted by EASY RMC. • Lighting timer mode: scenes and sequence A are recalled automatically by external timer switch connect to IN2. Temporarily manual override of lighting (scene, brightness, etc.) is allowed by EASY components. Procedure Proceed as follows to set up a master-slave circuit: Step Task 1 Disconnect all control units from the mains supply. 2 Set DIP2 to OFF (Master) to one unit. Note: In Light Timer mode, connect an external timer switch to IN2 of the master unit. In addressed mode (see EASY Touch panel instruction sheet), connect additional external timers to IN2 of every DALI EASY SO unit that operates in Light timer mode. 3 For the remaining control units, which operate as slaves, set DIP1 switch to ON (Slave). 4 Connect the control units via EASY by Y-connectors or push-in terminals. 5 Connect a maximum of four infrared receivers, two push button couplers and one EASY RC every 16 DALI EASY SO units. XI 2011 13 Operation DALI EASY SO Operation Note: To operate via an EASY PB Coupler, DALI EASY RMC, EASY Hrybrid Remote, EASY Touch panel and EASY PC Kit, see the separate instructions sheet. Typical commissioning procedure has the following steps: 1 Prepare lighting concepts by user interface: 1.1 Adjust brightness, colors/color temperature, switch on/off single channel 1.2 Store lighting scene 2 Operate the lighting installation in two ways: 2.1 By user interface: Control each channel independently or recall stored scenes and sequences 2.2 By external timer switch: recall stored scenes and sequences 14 XI 2011 DALI EASY SO Operation • Main functions by EASY RMC (refer to instruction sheet for further details and complete functionality description).
