Global Rolled Products 4B Alloy Alcoa’s 4B Alloy is the high performing alternative to 3xxx alloys and is often used by color coating companies and end users like building panel manufacturers and traffic sign manufacturers. A dedicated team in our plant in Köfém (Hungary) has developed its particular chemical composition to reach a unique heat treatable and work hardening alloy. Due to the high amount of alloying elements, 4B provides excellent mechanical properties and a high hardness level while maintaining superb formability. Laboratory and industrial tests have shown that 4B behaves similar to 3xxx alloys in anisotropy, earing, bending and final aspect. 4B is particularly suitable for painting applications but can be welded or anodized as well. Our technical department is available for any recommendation about other applications. Consumers and industrial users value aluminium because it is strong, lightweight and non-corrosive, but also because it’s infinitely recyclable.
