This will ensure correct and proper usage. • DIM SA is used only for the control of dimming ECG with 1...10V interface • Installation of DIM SA should only be done by qualified and trained personnel. This personnel must be familiar with the instructions. Work must only be carried out with the mains supply switched off. • DIM SA must only be run on AC supply voltage. This is especially important when used in uninterrupted power supply (UPS) units. • The 1...10V outputs of several DIM SA must not be connected in parallel. • Personnel has to abide by the regulations concerning safety and accident prevention. Fig. 2: DIM SA to increase the 1…10V cable length Application and function The DIM SA is used for dimming of ECG with 1…10V interface. In combination with 1…10V dimming devices it acts as signal amplifier which allows to increase the number of ECG that can be connected to a 1…10V control unit. By using DIM SA, the length of the 1…10V cable can be increased. Big groups of luminaries or long control cables can be achieved by using or cascading several DIM SA. The Dim SA can be used with any installation in conjunction with 1…10V light sensor or with any 1…10V daylight dependent control/motion detector and rotary manual control 1…10V dimmer switch. L N PE 1...10V control unit 1...10V Use of DIM SA to increase the number of dimming luminairies. (see. Fig.1) The 1...10V output from the control unit (MICO or DIM MULTI or manual dimmer switch) has to be connected to the input of DIM SA. Please refer to the wiring diagrams. DIM SA max. 300m The 1...10V terminals of the ECG in the luminairies have to be connected to the 1…10V output of the DIM SA. In an installation, to achieve simultaneous and uniform dimming of 1...10V ECG, it is necessary to connect all dimming 1...10V ECG to Dim SA modules. If some 1…10V ECG are connected directly to control unit and some controlled via DIM SA, then simultaneous dimming will not take place. If several DIM SA are connected to a control unit, an even load of the DIM SA has to be aspired (similar number of 1…10V ECG per DIM SA). 1...10V ~ 230V ~ 50-60Hz max. 300m Suitable light sensor or a light/motion detector (e.g. OSRAM DIM MICO or OSRAM DIM MULTI) can easily used with DIM SA.
