Description Function and application The signal amplifier DIM SA in combination with 1...10V control units is used for the control of electronic ballasts (ECG) with a 1...10V interface. DIM SA The following applications are available, depending on the connection (see the connection diagram): • Increase in the number of electronic ballasts and luminaires that can be connected to the control unit. • Increase in the permissible control line length. • Configuration of lighting with daylight-dependent control or daylight- and motion-dependent control (in combination with a suitable light sensor or light and motion sensor). A B Connections The signal amplifier has the following connections: • Power supply (A) • 1…10V input (B) • 1…10V output (C) Signal amplifier Fitting instructions C Installation Safety instructions The signal amplifier must only be installed and put into operation by a qualified electrician. The applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be observed. WARNING! Exposed, live cables. Danger of electric shock! • Only work on the signal amplifier when it is de-energised. CAUTION! Destruction of the signal amplifier and other devices through incorrect mounting! • Do not connect the control outputs of multiple signal amplifiers in parallel. • Only use ballasts with a 1...10V interface. • Do not exceed the maximum number of connectable components. • Only supply signal amplifiers with an AC operating voltage, especially in networks with UPS systems. Note: Ensure that the configuration is „symmetric“: –– As far as possible, distribute the number of electronic ballasts evenly among the signal amplifiers. –– Connect all electronic ballasts to the signal amplifiers if possible.
