DO NOT thread a screw more than 2.5 mm (0.100 inch or 5 turns) into any 11206AC mounting face as this can damage the gyro and will VOID the warranty. ►A ► locking compound should be used on all threads to prevent screws loosening due to vibrations. g Data subject to change without notice *within one year of calibration †IdentiCals are interchangeable, any with same range have same value Gyro Connections Options A / B: Description Cable Wire 1 2 3 4 Gyro 1+ Signal - +Vs Ground } } Green twisted pair Blue Orange twisted pair White Shield bonded to case 0.945 [24.00] 0.945 0.354 [24.00] [9.0] Min Typical Max Range & Sensitivity† at 25°C Option R600 Option R300 Option R180 Option R050 Tinned leads or terminal tubes 1.073 [27.30] 0.295 [7.50] 3 mm x 0.5 mm Thread 0.138 in [3.5 mm] Deep 0.295 [7.50] (6) Mounting Holes on 3 sides Three-Year Limited Warranty Specifications* Parameter Option D: Pin DB9M 1 connector 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Description Gyro 1+ Signal - Not Used Not Used Not Used Not Used Not Used +Vs Ground Cable Wire Green twisted pair Blue } } Orange twisted pair White Shield bonded to case Option D Male D-Shell Connector CAUTION Improper wiring, particularly Power, may cause permanent damage and void the warranty. Pins other than +Vs should not exceed 5 V. Measurement Specialties, Inc. warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from date of shipment. During the warranty period, Measurement Specialties, Inc. will, at its option, either repair or replace products which prove to be defective. Exclusions This warranty does not apply to defects or damage resulting from: •Improper installation or maintenance •Customer supplied software or interfacing •Unauthorized modification or misuse •Operation outside of the product specifications Limitations The warranty set forth above is exclusive and no other warranty, whether written or oral, is expressed or implied. Measurement Specialties, Inc. specifically disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. However, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness is limited to the three-year duration of this written warranty. Warranty Service To obtain service during the warranty period, products must be returned, transportation prepaid, to Measurement Specialties, Inc.. 11206AC Rev. 7/31/13 How to Use the 11206AC ►Connect ► a +8.5 V (or +12 V for Option L001) to +36 V DC power source to pin 8, ground to pin 9. ►Connect ► a differential or floating input A/D converter to each signal and signal common pins (pins 1 and 2). For best results, use a converter with an input impedance greater than 1 MΩ and common mode rejection ratio greater than 60 dB. Single-ended converters are not recommended, but if used, leave pin 2 unconnected to eliminate ground loops. A positive rotation (marked on the gyro label) causes a positive change on the corresponding output. Rotation is measured around the axis as defined by right hand rule. ►Keep ► cable lengths between the angular rate sensor and measuring equipment as short as practical. Use shielded twisted pair wiring, especially near electric motors or other noise sources. ►As ► a rule of thumb, sample frequency should be at least 10 times the signal bandwidth when linear interpolation is used for signal reconstruction. Built-in or external low-pass filtering can be used to lower the noise floor and eliminate spurious peak measurements from shortduration shock impulses with insignificant energy content.
