Mounting Instructions
Use two 3,0 x 0,5 mm thread machine screws to attach to the
bottom or rear 35200A mount faces. Be careful not to bottom
screws in tapped holes as this can strip threads.
➤ A light film of oil or silicone grease can be used to enhance
contact between mounting surfaces.
➤ A locking compound should be used on all threads to prevent
screws loosening due to vibrations.

How to Use the 15200A
If a Summit Instruments 35250A converter is available, connect
the 15200A to the 35250A sensor connector, apply power to the
35250A, and connect a computer to the 35250A RS232
connector. A positive acceleration (labeled on the accelerometer
cover) causes a positive change on the corresponding output.
➤ If a 35250A is not available, connect a +8 to 30V DC power
source to +V Connect power source ground to the Power Gnd
pin. Connect a computer RS485 interface to the two RS485 pins
on the 15200A..
➤ Optionally connect a differential or floating input A/D converter
to each 15200A analog output and Signal Gnd. For best results
use a converter with an input impedance greater than 1MΩ and
common mode rejection ratio greater than 60dB. Less critical
applications using single-ended converters should leave the
signal ground pins unconnected to eliminate ground loops.
➤ Keep cable lengths between an analog output and an A/D
converter as short as practical. Use shielded twisted pair wiring,
especially near electric motors or other noise sources.
➤ Download ICU software from www.summitinstruments.com and
use it to configure the 15200A. As a rule of thumb, sample
frequency should set at least 10 times the highest filter
bandwidth when linear interpolation is used for signal
reconstruction. Built-in low-pass filtering can be used to lower
the noise floor and eliminate spurious peak measurements from
short-duration shock impulses with insignificant energy content.
