A voltage regulator output with VREG = 3.0 V is provided for ML rechargeable batteries. Additionaly, a level shifter with monitored power supply input VIO is integrated for interfacing with CPU (I2C and CLKOUT). The calendar function tracks Weekdays, Date, Month and Years with automatic leap year calculation. The clock function tracks Seconds, Minutes and Hours in 12 or 24 hour format. Two programmable Alarm settings and a Periodic Interrupt function increase flexibility.
