GENERAL:

All noninductive ratings were tested for 250,000 operations to cover resistance
heating applications.
All Definite Purpose Ratings are per-pole.
The motor FLA ratings for Cat. No. 42BF and 42CF devices provided with covers
were tested for 250,000 operations of endurance.
The contactors provided with covers were additionally tested for use in
applications where the stalled rotor test does not involve more than 6000 operations
for the following ratings:

At the request of the manufacturer, the open type devices provided with covers
were investigated for part winding applications where the maximum full-load and
locked-rotor currents do not exceed those shown below. The devices were tested for
30,000 operations "making" the full-load current and "breaking" the locked-rotor
current. The tests were conducted 3-phase, 3-pole (covers 1-phase, 2-pole) at a rate
of six operations per minute.

Tungsten and Ballast
42EF, 60 Amps, 480 V ac, maximum, 1 phase, 2-pole and 3 phase, 3pole.
42DF contactors are also rated 65VDC, 90 Amps, resistive, 3 poles
in parallel.
The Cat. No. 42DF contactors also have a rating of 240 V ac, 54 fullload amps, 300 locked-rotor amps.
The Cat. No. 42EF contactors also have ratings of 65 full-load amperes,
with the same locked-rotor currents as indicated above.
All noninductive ratings were tested for 250,000 operations to cover
resistance heating applications.
Single phase definite purpose ratings at 120 V and 240 V are per pole.
All three phase ratings require the contactor to break all lines.
The motor FLA ratings were tested for 100,000 operations of endurance.

inherent overheating protectors controlling the coil circuit of contactors.

GENERAL:
These devices are open or enclosed type magnetically operated definite
purpose contactors. They are intended to be used in heating, air
conditioning, and refrigeration applications where the suitability of the
combination has been determined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
RATINGS:
These are maximum ratings. Lower ratings may be provided on controls
with special suffixes, or suffix D5, or on controls which normally have a
higher rating (e.g., 45EG could have the same ratings as 45DG). All ratings
are single-phase, per-pole. Additional 3-phase ratings are noted below.

The Cat. No. 45DG contactors may also have the same ratings as the Cat.
No. 45EG contactors.
The Cat. No. 45EG contactors also have a rating of 240 V ac, 31 fullload amps, 180 locked-rotor amps.
All noninductive ratings were tested for 250,000 operations to cover
resistance heating applications. The Cat. Nos. 45EG, 45FG and 45GG devices
have been tested for ratings of 240 V ac, 55 A and 600 V ac, 50 A, breaking
two legs of a three phase resistive load. The Cat. No. 45CG and 45DG devices
have been tested for ratings 600 V ac, 35 A, breaking two legs of a three
phase resistive load.
These devices may be used to control motors having inherent overheating
protectors controlling the coil circuit of contactors.
