(2) Frequency characteristics can be changed by adjusting the capacitor attached to pin 3 (20 pin) or pin 5 (18 pin). (3) Gain can be changed by attaching a resistor to pin 4 (19 pin). (4) Attach a transistor to pin 7 (16 pin) to mute popping sounds.
