Modular Jacks Category 5e FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS 44661, 44560 Right Angle Compact Profile Single and Ganged Category 5e Compact Modular Jacks Provide Low Profile of 9.53mm (.375”) for Optimal Board Stacking Features and Benefits ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Offers a low profile of 9.53 mm (.375”) from the top of the PCB to the top of the modular jack Available in one, two and four port configurations for multiple design options Enhanced panel grounding tabs on shielded versions offer superior ground paths to the panel or metal bezel for maximum shielding performance Snap-fit or press-fit PCB retention options for single-port versions Conforms to Compact PCI, Eurocard and Common Mezzanine Card Standards Meets Category 5e performance for Gigabit Ethernet applications High temperature material allows for Surface Mount Compatibility during solder reflow Meets FCC 68.5 specification Each modular jack is 100% electronically tested to detect possible shorting conditions before the product is shipped Molex introduces a new right angle modular jack with a profile of 9.53mm (.375”) from the top of the PCB to the top of the jack allowing for optimal board stacking. This unique design allows the bottom of the modular jack to sit flush with the bottom of the PCB, adhering to the 2mm industry specification for creepage and clearance. The compact jack is offered in one, two and four port variations to meet many design configurations. This RJ-45 jack with through-hole PCB tails features a choice of shielding options: ■ ■ ■ ■ Unshielded Shield with no grounding tabs Shield with enhanced grounding tabs on top and sides Shield with side bezel grounding tabs for CompactPCI applications The compact modular jack meets Category 5e performance for Gigabit Ethernet applications with near-end cross talk (NEXT) loss of 43dB at 100 MHz. The high-temperature housing material maintains performance at a +260°C reflow soldering temperature for one minute without deforming the modular jack. The compact profile of this modular jack makes it suitable for use in notebook PCs and other spaceconscious devices that call for Category 5 or 5e connection. Other applications include networking equipment such as hubs, routers and switches. The modular jack conforms to Compact PCI, Eurocard and Common Mezzanine Card Standards.
