ABOUT US 20
2
As the development of railway networks continues
to advance forward, demand is growing for railway
vehicles and components globally. In response
to this demand, Hitachi Metals has developed
POLYENEX*1, a halogen-free cables family for
railway vehicles that complies with EN*2.
Compliance requires that various properties be
used, including those that ensure fire safety, such
as high flame retardancy and high durability, as
well as low smoke and toxicity having less impact
on the human body if the cable catches fire. By
using materials made of engineered plastic (in
which flexible elastomers are blended) or crosslinked polyolefin with outstanding oil and fuel
oil resistance, Hitachi Metals has satisfied these
EN requirements. In addition to comply with EN
requirements, Hitachi Metals synergizes JRIS*3
requirements and Hitachi Metals’s technologies
as a general cable manufacturer. We have strong
confidence to contribute rolling stock industry in
the world.
