Protect USB On-The-Go and the Vbus charger from ESD with just one device

NXP PUSBMxX4-TL series
with VRWM = 5.5, 12, 15 or
30 V for Vbus
Protect USB On-The-Go and the Vbus
charger from ESD with just one device
This innovative NXP solution cuts design time, reduces chip count, and saves PCB space. It is also
the only USB On-The-Go (OTG) protection device, which allows the engineer to choose from four
different Vcc voltages.
Key features
`` Vbus protection with VRWM = 5.5, 12, 15 or 30 V
`` 1.6 x 1.6 mm leadless DFN1616-6 (SOT1189) package
`` 1.1 pF low capacitance ESD protection structure for `
USB D+, D- and ID
Key benefits
`` Ideally suited for the protection of micro-USB ports
`` Complies with the YT/D 1591-2006 / 2009 standard (China)
and GSMA / OMTP Universal Charging Solution (UCS)
`` Ultra-low-clamping ESD protection
`` Choice of four different Vbus working voltages for any
charging application
`` Very small dimensions
`` Industry-standard footprint
Key applications
`` Mobile phones
`` Tablet PCs / MIDs
`` Portable media players
`` Digital still cameras, camcorders
The NXP PUSBMxX4-TL series combines ESD protection `
for mobile USB On-The-Go (OTG) and its accompanying Vbus
voltage line. It supports different Vbus working voltages, up to
30 V, so it’s suitable for use in a range of charging applications.
The very small DFN1616-6 package has an industry-standard
footprint and is easy to place, even in portable systems.
The USB OTG specification defines a dual-role device that
can act as either a host or a peripheral. USB OTG connectors
can be used with portable devices or PCs, and are 100%
compatible with the USB 2.0 specification. The host capability
of USB OTG lets portable devices connect to a targeted subset
of USB peripherals.
