Plug PM board with ICE board (PM is on the top & ICE is at the bottom) via IR1&IR2. 2. Connect with Target board via CN1 and CN2 connector by flat cable 3. Plug in Extent Printer cable to Printer Port 4. Remove Program EPM1 EPROM(M27C1024). Leave the EPM2,EPM3 EPROM (M27C160/ M27C800) on the PM board. 5. Check the JP10 of PM board is “OPEN”. JP2& JP3 is “SHORT” 6. Select the correct EPM2 setting at JP11 EPM2 Pin 1-2 Pin2-3 512K words(M27C800) short Open 1M words(M27C160) Open Short Note: EPROM configuration MODEL EPM1 EPM3 EPM4 JP11 EPD-8000 64K words 512K/1M words N.C. Oscillator Pin 1-2 Pin2-3 X’tal short Open RC Open Short And select the correct code option at IDE TOOL/Option/ICE Code setting. 8. Plug in power jack (+5V) on the ICE board power jack, and switch on. The RED LED is on. Check the VDD & VDDA >3.3V. 9. RUN ELAN IDE program, and press (Connect to ICE, wait a few seconds) 10. Open project---“RTCLOCK”(recommand) , and execute “Rebulid ALL” 11. Press to initialize ICE 10. Press to execute “GO” (wait a few seconds until à ) (or Press to execute “Timer GO” ,this function is used for displaying LCD RAM on the PC monitor. And the LCD display will be updated every 1 seconds.) 11. If any error happen, press à , and run from STEP 9 again. 13. If STEP 12 not work, disconnect Printer port and DC power , and re-connect. Then run from STEP 8 again. Processor Module (PM board) Installation procedure: 1. Remove ICE board, and leave PM board stand alone. 2. Plug in Target board to CN1 and CN2 jack by flat cable 3. Install EPM1 EPROM(M27C1024) and DATA EPROM (M27C160/M27C800) on the PM board. (The EPROM file is generated from ELAN IDE tool/Tool/Generate EPROM file) 4.Check the JP10 of PM board is “SHORT”. Ex: Take an example on AWARD BIOS setup: Main menu / Chipset Feature Setup / Parallel Port Mode / EPP 2.The default Parallel Port is 378h. If your computer is not 378h, please change to other address at ELAN IDE tool / Option / Connect / Connect Port Hardware setup: Jack: J1: DC 5V/ 2A Power supply (Inner:5V, Outer :GND) JP1: DC 3V battery power supply Switch: Reset: System Reset key. Connector: JP2: Measure ALL current (Current measurement at Processor module is suggested) JP3: Measure CPU current (Current measurement at Processor module is suggested) JP8: Oscillator type selection. JP10: Let it “Short” when PM connect with ICE board, and “Open” when PM stand alone. JP11: EPM2 EPROM size selection. CN1 : Interface for connecting to user’s Target Board.
