Copper wire mechanical properties (vs gold wire) will help to reduce the wire defects (eg (eg. sagging/broken wire) in the plastic package encapsulation too too. Copper wire can achieve these while meeting AEC & JEDEC reliability requiements Change Description: LRC is notifying customers of its use of Copper Wire (in place of Gold Wire) for their SOT23 packages. Discrete products built with general purpose transistor, biased-resistor transistor, schottky diode, and switching diode platforms are represented by this Process Change Notice.The mold compound, die, tin anode and lead frame materials will remain the same. Reliability Qualification and full electrical characterization over temperature to ensure device functionality and electrical specifications are met. Devices listed in this PCN will be converted to Copper wire starting Aug, 2009. Conversion of specific devices will be notified, and devices containing Copper wire can be identified by the date code. Anticipated Function & Reliability : Reliability testing was performed on qualification chosen based on die size, voltage rating, and run rates, please refer to related reliability report. All of Data are available , and can be provided based upon requirement.
