Marvell 88MZ100 ZigBee SoC Solution for Home Automation and More PRODUCT OVERVIEW The Marvell® ZigBee® 88MZ100 system-on-chip (SoC) solution offers unparalleled advantages for home automation, LED lighting control, smart metering, remote control, healthcare monitoring and other applications. The 88MZ100 delivers the industry’s highest level of integration to significantly improve performance, lower power consumption, and reduce the total bill of materials. This enables OEMs and ODMs to easily, quickly and cost-effectively reach the market with new, innovative products in this rapidly growing space. The 88MZ100 provides best-in-class coexistence performance in the 2.4GHz ISM band where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices reside, through Marvell’s proven RF, DSP, and software strengths in wireless connectivity. Furthermore, with superior sensitivity (-104dBm), the 88MZ100 does not sacrifice receive sensitivity as a coexistence solution. The 88MZ100 combines with Marvell’s leading application processor and other devices, including LED drivers and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, to deliver a total solution for a variety of emerging home automation and green energy markets. Leveraging Marvell’s leadership in design, performance, integration, connectivity, and power management, the 88MZ100 offers a range of exciting new product opportunities across the industry. The 88MZ100 integrates these features historically found in four separate chips: • Certified ZigBee Pro stack and IEEE802.15.4-2003/2006 transceiver • 32 bit ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller running at 32 or 64 MHz with Marvell’s proven peripheral IPs and up to 31 GPIOs that enable rich microcontroller applications • On-chip DC-DC converter that can directly take input range from 2 volt to 3.6 volt • In package 512KB serial flash with QSPI interface to Cortex M3, with AES encryption capability BLOCK DIAGRAM Connectivity ARM Cortex M3 32 Bit System 2x I2C 2x UART 802.15.4 RF Transceiver 2x SPI I2S/PCM Up to 31 GPIOs Peripherals 16x 15 Keyscan PMU DC/DC DMA RTC/WDT Timers/PWMs IR Block Battery Monitor Memory PGA+ 16b ADC DAC/COMP 128K ROM 3-Axis Trackball Temp.
