Marvell 40Watt 2-Stage, 4-Channel Smart External LED Driver Reference Design For Evaluation of the Marvell 88EM8042 and 88EM8801 LED Driver ICs PRODUCT OVERVIEW Marvell® offers a 40Watt 2-Stage, 4-Channel Smart External LED Driver Reference Design that is a turnkey manufacturing-ready kit for commercial lighting applications. Supporting designs up to 40 Watts, the reference design can be used for the development of commercial lighting fixtures, such as panel lights or troffers, that independently control four strings of LEDs. It has been designed in a modular fashion to allow end users to develop products that meet various lighting control requirements. The basic kit includes the 40Watt Marvell 88EM8042 Base Board and two Marvell 88EM8801 modules encased in housing, plus a Quick Start Guide, User Manual, design files, transformer specification and test reports. This base configuration is specified for Universal Input Voltage and four LED outputs (30VDC/500mA) and supports 0-10V dimming down to five percent. More functionality can be achieved with the addition of the optional modules which plug into the base board: 0-10V two-wire dimming module, DALI network module or ZigBee (RF) wireless network module. The addition of these modules, which support the latest industry standards, can be used for dimming down to one percent, smart lighting control including on/off control, occupancy sensors, CCT tuning or color management. For design flexibility, the Marvell 88EM8801 module may be purchased separately for use in custom configurations.
