www.yageo.com Passive Components for Automotive Applications Introduction As the leader of global passive component service provider, Yageo is pleased to bring you this brochure to offer you a full range of products to fulfill your automotive application requirements. Which includes the thick film automotive grade chip resistors, automotive grade MLCCs, EMI filters, and other related products. Both automotive grade R-Chip and MLCC AC series conform to automotive electronics industry requirements – AEC-Q200 compliant, and is mainly applicable to infotainment , comfort & security; automotive grade R-Chip can also be applied in power management. The AC series R-Chip is based on Yageo’s wellestablished thick film mass production expertise, with the existing manufacturing process further refined. It is optimized, to conform to the strict automotive industry standard, while offering the defined tolerance of 5% and 1%, TCR of ±100, ±200ppm/°C. These high standard characteristics allow Yageo’s AC series to be applied to the majority of automotive electronics systems. Other than the AEC-Q200 standard, the AC series also boasts anti-sulfuration and performs 100% automatic optical inspection (AOI), thus provides an even more comprehensive quality guarantee. 2 Yageo’s automotive grade series surface mount capacitors in NPO/X7R dielectric are suited for a variety of applications requiring reliable operation. The devices emphasize the vital and robust nature of capacitors required for mission critical automotive circuits. Stricter testing protocol and inspection criteria have been established for automotive grade products in recognition of potentially harsh environmental conditions. NPO/X7R dielectric features a 125°C maximum operating temperature and is considered “stable”. The Electronics Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA) characterizes NPO dielectric as a Class I material, Components of this classification are temperature compensating and are suited for resonant circuit applications or those where D.F. (Q value) and stability of capacitance characteristics are required. NPO exhibits no change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. Capacitance change is limited to ±30ppm/°C from -55°C to +125°C.
