Guide Mode Practice for Clavinova CVP400 Series ©2008 Yamaha Corporation. All rights reserved. Rhythm 1. Select the song you wish to practice. 2. Press DIRECT ACCESS, then GUIDE. 3. Use buttons A or B (in the center of the display area) to select ANY KEY. 4. Press the GUIDE button (on right side panel), then SCORE. (The red light next to GUIDE should be lit). 5. Select a part to practice by turning off the TRACK1 (R) or TRACK2 (L) buttons (to practice both parts, turn off both buttons; tracks are off when the green light is off). 6. Press PLAY/PAUSE to begin the song. 7. Tap the rhythm of a part on any key, making sure to keep the ball bouncing rhythmically in the center screen. If ball starts/stops, rhythm is off. If no sound is produced, you are too far ahead of the note. Note 1. Select the song you wish to practice. 2. Press DIRECT ACCESS, then GUIDE. 3. Use buttons A or B to select FOLLOW LIGHTS. 4. Use button C (in the center display area) and set to GUIDE LAMPS OFF. 5. Press the GUIDE button, then SCORE. (The red light next to GUIDE should be lit). 6. Select a part to practice by turning off the TRACK1 (R) or TRACK2 (L) buttons (to practice both parts, turn off both buttons; tracks are off when the green light is off). 7. Press PLAY/PAUSE to begin the song. 8. If you miss a note, the file will stop playing. By looking at the screen, you can see which note you missed. Also, if you watch the screen as you play, the ball will indicate if you are playing rhythmically. Rhythm and Note 1. Repeat steps 1-3 for Note (above). 2. Use button C and set GUIDE LAMPS ON. 3. Repeat steps 5-7 for Note (above). 4. If you play with an inaccurate rhythm, the lights behind the keys will flash. If you miss a note, the light will be steady, indicating which note you missed. If you play too far off rhythm, you will not hear a sound.
