Using MIDI Disks For Song Playback
and More on Clavinova CVP300 Series
Basic Operation
1. Insert the MIDI disk.
2. Press the gray SONG SELECT button (on the upper part of left panel area, near the display).
3. Look at the top right of the center display.The USB tab should be selected automatically. If not,
use the < > TAB buttons to select the USB tab.
4. Turn the dial clockwise or counter clockwise to place the box outline around the song desired.
5. After the box is around the song, press the ENTER button below the dial to highlight the song.
6. To play the song, press the green PLAY/PAUSE button (on the left side panel).
7. To pause, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.To re-start playback, press the same button.
8. To stop playback and rewind the song to beginning, press the STOP button.
Transpose, Balance, Begin Playback Selecting Specific Measures
1. To transpose the song playback, press either the TRANSPOSE + or – button.The CVP transposes
in half steps.To return to standard, simultaneously press both TRANSPOSE + and – .
2. To balance the volume of the song playback with the keyboard volume, press the BALANCE button
(just to the left of the DIRECT ACCESS button in the lower left of the display area). Use button 1▲ or
1▼ to increase/decrease the song playback volume. (You can hold the button down to scroll quickly).
3. To start song playback at a specific measure, press FF to move ahead in the music and REW to go back.
When pressed, a small box will appear in the screen with the measure number indicated.To remove the
box, press the EXIT button once.
Muting Parts*
1. To mute the right hand part, turn off the TRACK1/R button (above the PLAY/PAUSE button).
2. To mute the left hand part, turn off the TRACK2/L button.
3. To mute all backup tracks, turn off the EXTRATRACKS button.
* If using the TRACK 1, TRACK 2, and EXTRATRACK buttons does not turn off the desired parts, you can press the CHANNEL ON/OFF button
at the bottom left of the display area.The display should show 16 boxes that correspond to the 16 tracks. If it shows the style tracks, press
the button again. Next, turn off the desired track by pressing the button below the track number. Example:To turn off track 3, press the 3▲
button. To turn off the percussion on track 10, press 2▼ button.
