There is also an External Power Board that connects to the Main Controller Board to charge the battery pack. The battery pack may be re-charged by either an AC/DC supply that outputs 15 V or a DC supply from a car charger that outputs up to 14.4 V. The chargers are not covered by this certificate. The instructions state that the product is not to be charged in a hazardous location. When the unit is powered from an external source, a Um of 21 V applies to the Power input terminals. There is also a USB input which is not to be used in a hazardous location.
