A iv HQMI001138 02/01/05 SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION 1.1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The HQM30E is a Black/White Quad Processor capable of displaying full-screen or quad views of four camera inputs. With a real time refresh rate, the system provides a high quality picture for both single and quad screen display. The HQM30E allows sequencing of full-screen or quad images, as well as OSD (on screen-display) and 3, 6, or 9 second dwell times can be selected using the front panel controls. 1.2 1.3 MODELS • HQM30E: • HQM30EX: Black/White, CCIR model Black/White, EIA model PACKAGE CONTENTS Check that the items received match those listed on the order form and packing slip. The HQM30E Quad Processor packing box should include: • One Quad Unit (HQM30E) • One power supply • Installation manual (this manual) If any parts are missing or damaged, contact the dealer you purchased the Quad Processor from or call Honeywell Customer Service. Rev. A 1 HQMI001138 02/01/05 WARNING: Prior to installation and use of this product, the following WARNINGS should be observed: 1. This unit should be operated using only the type of power source supplied with the unit. 2. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord and do not place this unit where persons walk and could damage to power cord. 3. To prevent the risk of fire or electrical shock do not overload wall outlets and extension cords. 4. Do not insert objects into the product. 5. Keep all equipment away from liquid and moisture. 6. Unplug equipment before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a soft damp cloth for cleaning. 7. Check upon completion of any service or repair of the unit, ask service personnel for safety check. Do not touch any parts inside for repair. It may expose you to dangerous voltages or other hazards. 8. ONLY use replacement parts recommended by Honeywell Video. 9. If the product will not be used for a long time, please unplug it from the power supply and disconnect it from other equipment. A 2 HQMI001138 02/01/05 SECTION 2: OPERATION 2.1 HQM30E FRONT PANEL POWER LED 2.2 INDIVIDUAL QUAD / CAMERAS SEQUENCE OPERATION The Quad starts operating when power is applied to the unit. This is the factory default setting. The Quad displays a full-screen view of any camera, a quad view of all cameras or a sequence of the cameras on any standard TV monitor. To display a full-screen view of any camera on the monitor, press the button for the desired camera. To view all four cameras on the monitor, press the button labeled QUAD/SEQ. Rev. A 3 HQMI001138 02/01/05 SECTION 3: PROGRAMMING 3.1 SEQUENCING Press QUAD/SEQ button to change between the Quad and Sequence modes. The front panel LED will blink indicating the sequence mode. To change the sequence time (dwell time), simultaneously press the QUAD/SEQ button and the desired time period. For example, to select six-second dwell time, press the QUAD/SEQ button and the 6S button at the same time. 3.2 OSD (On-Screen-Display) The OSD function displays the camera number (1, 2, 3, 4) on the display. OSD can be selected by pressing the QUAD/SEQ and 4 (OSD) buttons at the same time. This sequence can be repeated to turn OSD ON and OFF. Rev. A 4 HQMI001138 02/01/05 SECTION 4: INSTALLATION 4.1 INSTALLATION SYSTEM DIAGRAM 1. Connect the cameras and domes to the Video Input BNC connectors and QUAD output to the TV monitor. 2. If video recording is desired, connect a VCR to the quad monitor output and then connect a monitor to the VCR monitor output, as shown in the figure above. 3. Turn on power to all cameras prior to applying power to the HQC30E quad. 4. Connect power to quad. A power supply is included with the quad. 5. The quad starts operating when power is applied. Rev. A 5 HQMI001138 02/01/05 SECTION 5: TROUBLESHOOTING 5.1 TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom: The monitor screen is dark for a camera input. Rev. A • There is no camera connected to that input. • The camera connected to that input has failed. Check by switching cameras. • There is a problem with video coaxial cable or the cable connections. Check by switching cables. • The quad has failed for that input.
