This is possible when the impedance on the power bus line is constant and minimal. Measurements are used to verify this. Simple "in-and-out wiring" – though ostensibly cheaper – can turn into an expensive solution since motor controller devices must be disconnected during the measurement process and then re-connected. FieldPower®, however, features an uncut power line with constant impedance. The pluggable feature also makes this very easy to prove. The Multi-point bus is a simple actuating and sensing bus. It requires neither a special bus line nor a shielded cable. It can be implemented using the standard TT or NYM installation cables. However, when using conventional wiring methods, it is not possible to carry out the installation in a quick and precise manner. This prevents it from being completely accepted as a system solution. Research shows that more than half of all installation errors occur because of erroneous connections. These occur even when using a clear connection diagram under clean working conditions. But it is not the electricians who are at fault. They must be familiar with a variety of different communication systems while struggling with tighter deadlines and the shortage of qualified personnel. Now FieldPower® allows them to achieve both goals: No wiring errors all the way from the controller in the electrical cabinet to the end device – using standard installation cable. Other contact problems, such as insulation that is pushed under, are also no longer possible. •The wire colours along with the labelling are within the contact module. So here too there is no way for a mix-up to occur. •The end position of the contact discs is clear and can even be seen from a distance of three metres. Compact and rugged When mounted on a metal bracket or a metal wall, the LED lamp is flatter than 5 cm and complies with the IP65 protection degree. Wide ranging power bus The LEDs use very little current so there is only a minimal voltage drop on the cable. This allows you to maintain wide-ranging lines with 2.5 – 6 mm². Tunnels and crossways The LED light can be used as emergency lighting with a central supply in accordance with EN 60598-2-22. Given the extended 100–265 V AC/DC multi-voltage range, full light intensity is ensured even over long distances. Energy efficient and durable The integrated Power LEDs feature a much longer lifespan and better energy efficiency when compared to fluorescent or standard energy-saving bulbs. They provide the required light values of 10 and 50 Lux specified in the EN 50308 Standard for wind power facilities. 21 Building automation FieldPower® Control Wind power and FieldPower® Box – partners that fit The FieldPower® Box is a perfect fit for use in wind power installations. The FP Box is a sturdy and easy-to-service solution for power distribution; as such it is an ideal match for the requirements of wind power. Wind turbine towers are equipped with regularly spaced outlets and lighting to facilitate maintenance work. Power generated directly at the top of the tower must then be distributed under harsh environmental conditions. The FieldPower® Box features IP65 protection and is perfectly suited for this task. The FieldPower® Box is a particularly affordable solution for wind power facilities since it enables the entire electrical installation to be prepared ahead of time at the factory. An electrical expert is no longer needed at the construction site. The installable modules for the individual tower segments 22 are easily put together on site. In the same manner, pre-assembled and pre-tested connectors are used for connecting the outlets and lighting. This quick installation process is practically fault-proof and can be undertaken regardless of the ambient temperature. Later extensions – including additional branch lines – are just as simple to execute as the original installation.
