Moore 354 Universal Control Station FEATURES & BENEFITS Powerful multiple loop controller capabilities and rugged, sophisticated operator interface provide comprehensive control for hybrid continuous and discrete applications Common controller database automatically populates the graphic workstation on-line with essential operator details, such as tags, ranges, and units, eliminating the need for duplicate configuration in the workstation 256 color LCD display with 640/480 graphics affords process monitoring and control Extensive built-in and remote I/O (including direct thermocouple, RTD, frequency, and LonWorks®) accommodate advanced control, multiple loop, and batch sequencing applications. LonWorks digital fieldbus provides flexible I/O expansion and reduced wiring costs for continuous and discrete variables Standard MODBUS® network connection allow easy integration into the APACS+ process automation system or other plant-wide DCS systems Local Instrument Link (LIL) connection, which can be used in place of the MODBUS connection, provides higher speed networking and peer-to-peer communication Pre-configured applications for both the controller and the operator interface, such as single loop cascade and ratio control, greatly reduce the initial engineering effort and related start-up costs The ability to use function blocks and ladder logic in a single control station allows integrated strategies to meet real world requirements Removable Configuration Board (RCB) option minimizes maintenance and complexity via a simple board replacement technique that stores a complete copy of the control strategy configuration DESCRIPTION The Moore 354 combines the functionality of a small DCS, PLC, and operator workstation in a single device. Its NEMA 4X front panel display and rugged design allow local mounting in harsh industrial environments. As a state-of-the-art, high performance controller, the Moore 354 meets the need for both continuous and discrete control and offers a powerful, flexible graphical operator interface for process monitoring. Combined alarm management, reporting, and batch management capabilities further simplify process operations. A common database for both the controller and the operator interface consolidates event and alarm monitoring, time stamping, and logging of process alarm conditions, and automatically populates its displays with essential operator details, such as tags, ranges, and units. A built-in port provides a printer link for permanent documentation of this infomation. The LonWorks fieldbus option enables expansion of more than 100 points using interoperable I/O devices. Moreover, the Moore 354 can be networked within a plant system via the standard MODBUS or optional LIL communications. SPECIFICATIONS ELECTRICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL Almost all of today’s processes require a combination of continuous control, such as flow and temperature, and discrete requirements, such as on/off circuits and interlocks. The Moore 354 Universal Control Station combines the capabilities of traditional loop controllers and PLCs in one device. The state-of-the-art operator interface affords maximum versatility to design, monitor, and control process applications. Standard function blocks and ladder logic Americas +1 215 646 7400 ext. 6613 allow the user complete flexibility to create, edit, and document the Moore 354’s control strategies.
