® DEM-OPA628 EVALUATION FIXTURES FEATURES ● SOIC AND DIP VERSIONS ● SURFACE MOUNT COMPONENTS FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE ● QUICK AND EASY PERFORMANCE TESTING ● RF TWO-LAYER BOARD ● OPTIMIZED BOARD LAYOUT DESCRIPTION The DEM-OPA628 evaluation fixtures are preassembled printed circuit boards designed for a quick and easy evaluation of the OPA628 in a variety of gain configurations. Burr-Brown offers one board for the SOIC version of the OPA628 (AU model) and a second one for the DIP package (AP model). ceramic chip capacitors for local bypassing of all four supply leads, are used to maintain the low harmonic distortion the OPA628. The demonstration boards are designed for use of surface-mount resistors to keep the parasitic capacitance as low as possible by showing a layout for multiple circuit configuration. The use of the demoboards is recommended to evaluate the performance of the OPA628. The optimized and flexible layout provides the user with a selection of various non-inverting and inverting gain configurations. A combination of dipped tantalum capacitors to bypass the power supplies at the board level, and The fixture requires a bipolar ±5V power supply. Separate power supply paths are used for the inputstage and the output-stage supply. This approach minimizes the coupling of non-linear output stage currents into the input gain stages.
