Figure 1 4036 FY5 RF Frontend Module 3X 1981ED Revision: 03 May 01 Page 1 of 16 1981_03.DOC 4036 FY5 RF FRONTEND MODULE 3X1981, 3X1223, 3X7686 DATA SHEET PC/TV MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS The 4036 FY5 Frontend Module contains two primary functional areas: a hyperband tuner element that covers the frequency range from 54 MHz to 805 MHz an intermediate frequency (IF) element that includes a SAW filter, an IF amplifier, and video and sound demodulators • • The reception frequency range is divided into VHF low, VHF high, and UHF. Band selection and tuning are done via I2C bus. Also, a digital AFC function can be realized because the AFC voltage generated by the IF demodulator is fed to an analog/digital converter integrated in the PLL IC and readable via the I2C bus. A DC/DC converter for 33V generation is built in, so that only a single supply voltage of 5V is required. 4 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS This section contains mechanical, socket, and operating characteristics for the 4036 FY5 Frontend Module. 4.1 MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTI CS PIN 4 5 6 87.7 12.9 7 NOT CONNECTED 8 SUPPLY VOLTAGE VS1 FOR TUNER 5V 9 IIC BUS SIGNAL SCL 10 IIC BUS SIGNAL SDA 11 ADDRESS SELECTION FOR IIC BUS 12 13 14 38.9 Proprietary and Confidential The module’s AF signal is available at the audio output terminal and the CVBS signal is available at the video output terminal.
