Features:  Surface mountable  Closely matched responsivity  High temperature opera on  Common cathode connec ons Descrip on: Each OPR5911 device is a four‐element photodiode that is enclosed in a compact polyimide chip carrier and designed for a variety of encoder and control applica ons. The single chip construc on ensures excellent matching and very ght dimensional tolerances between ac ve areas. The custom opaque package shields the photodiodes from stray light and can withstand mul ple exposures to the most demanding soldering condi ons, while the wraparound gold‐plated solder pads offer excep ons storage and we ng characteris cs. All cathodes in the OPR5911 are bonded together, which enables the elements to act in unison with limited external circuitry. See Applica on Bulle n 237 for handling considera ons. Applica ons: 
