Maximum access delay from clock rise is 6.5 ns (133-MHz version). A 2-bit on-chip counter captures the first address in a burst and increments the address automatically for the rest of the burst access. All synchronous inputs are gated by registers controlled by a positive-edge-triggered Clock Input (CLK). The synchronous inputs include all addresses, all data inputs, address-pipelining Chip Enable (CE1), depth-expansion Chip Enables (CE2 and CE3), Burst Control inputs (ADSC, ADSP, and ADV), Write Enables (BWx, and BWE), and Global Write (GW). Asynchronous inputs include the Output Enable (OE) and the ZZ pin. The CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 allows either interleaved or linear burst sequences, selected by the MODE input pin. A HIGH selects an interleaved burst sequence, while a LOW selects a linear burst sequence. Burst accesses can be initiated with the Processor Address Strobe (ADSP) or the cache Controller Address Strobe (ADSC) inputs. Address advancement is controlled by the Address Advancement (ADV) input. Addresses and chip enables are registered at rising edge of clock when either Address Strobe Processor (ADSP) or Address Strobe Controller (ADSC) are active. Subsequent burst addresses can be internally generated as controlled by the Advance pin (ADV). The CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 operates from a +3.3 V core power supply while all outputs may operate with either a +2.5 or +3.3 V supply. All inputs and outputs are JEDEC-standard JESD8-5-compatible. A0, A1, A InputSynchronous Address Inputs Used to Select One of the Address Locations. Sampled at the rising edge of the CLK if ADSP or ADSC is active LOW, and CE1, CE2, and CE3 are sampled active. A[1:0] feed the 2-bit counter. BWA, BWB, BWC, BWD, BWE, BWF, BWG, BWH InputSynchronous Byte Write Select Inputs, Active LOW. Qualified with BWE to conduct byte writes to the SRAM. Sampled on the rising edge of CLK. GW InputSynchronous Global Write Enable Input, Active LOW. When asserted LOW on the rising edge of CLK, a global write is conducted (ALL bytes are written, regardless of the values on BWX and BWE). CLK InputClock Clock Input. Used to capture all synchronous inputs to the device. Also used to increment the burst counter when ADV is asserted LOW, during a burst operation. CE1 InputSynchronous Chip Enable 1 Input, Active LOW. Sampled on the rising edge of CLK. Used in conjunction with CE2 and CE3 to select/deselect the device. ADSP is ignored if CE1 is HIGH. CE1 is sampled only when a new external address is loaded. CE2 InputSynchronous Chip Enable 2 Input, Active HIGH. Sampled on the rising edge of CLK. Used in conjunction with CE1 and CE3 to select/deselect the device. CE2 is sampled only when a new external address is loaded. CE3 InputSynchronous Chip Enable 3 Input, Active LOW. Sampled on the rising edge of CLK. Used in conjunction with CE1 and CE2 to select/deselect the device. CE3 is assumed active throughout this document for BGA. CE3 is sampled only when a new external address is loaded. OE InputAsynchronous Output Enable, Asynchronous Input, Active LOW. Controls the direction of the IO pins. When LOW, the IO pins behave as outputs. When deasserted HIGH, IO pins are tri-stated, and act as input data pins. OE is masked during the first clock of a read cycle when emerging from a deselected state. ADV InputSynchronous Advance Input Signal, Sampled on the Rising Edge of CLK. When asserted, it automatically increments the address in a burst cycle. ADSP InputSynchronous Address Strobe from Processor, Sampled on the Rising Edge of CLK, Active LOW. When asserted LOW, addresses presented to the device are captured in the address registers. A[1:0] are also loaded into the burst counter. When ADSP and ADSC are both asserted, only ADSP is recognized. ASDP is ignored when CE1 is deasserted HIGH ADSC InputSynchronous Address Strobe from Controller, Sampled on the Rising Edge of CLK, Active LOW. When asserted LOW, addresses presented to the device are captured in the address registers. A[1:0] are also loaded into the burst counter. When ADSP and ADSC are both asserted, only ADSP is recognized. BWE InputSynchronous Byte Write Enable Input, Active LOW. Sampled on the rising edge of CLK. This signal must be asserted LOW to conduct a byte write. ZZ InputAsynchronous ZZ “sleep” Input, Active HIGH. When asserted HIGH places the device in a non-time-critical “sleep” condition with data integrity preserved. For normal operation, this pin must be LOW or left floating. ZZ pin has an internal pull down. DQs IOSynchronous Bidirectional Data IO lines. As inputs, they feed into an on-chip data register that is triggered by the rising edge of CLK. As outputs, they deliver the data contained in the memory location specified by the addresses presented during the previous clock rise of the read cycle. The direction of the pins is controlled by OE. When OE is asserted LOW, the pins behave as outputs. When HIGH, DQs and DQPX are placed in a tri-state condition. The outputs are automatically tri-stated during the data portion of a write sequence, during the first clock when emerging from a deselected state, and when the device is deselected, regardless of the state of OE. DQPX IOSynchronous Bidirectional Data Parity IO Lines. Functionally, these signals are identical to DQs. During write sequences, DQPx is controlled by BW[A:H] correspondingly. MODE Input-Static Selects Burst Order. When tied to GND selects linear burst sequence. When tied to VDD or left floating selects interleaved burst sequence. This is a strap pin and should remain static during device operation. Mode Pin has an internal pull up. ADSC is ignored if ADSP is active LOW. All synchronous inputs pass through input registers controlled by the rising edge of the clock. Maximum access delay from the clock rise (t CDV) is 6.5 ns (133-MHz device). The addresses presented are loaded into the address register and the burst counter/control logic and delivered to the memory core. The information presented to DQS is written into the specified address location. Byte writes are allowed. All IOs are tri-stated when a write is detected, even a byte write. Since this is a common IO device, the asynchronous OE input signal must be deasserted and the IOs must be tri-stated prior to the presentation of data to DQs. As a safety precaution, the data lines are tri-stated once a write cycle is detected, regardless of the state of OE. The CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 supports secondary cache in systems utilizing either a linear or interleaved burst sequence. The interleaved burst order supports Pentium and i486™ processors. The linear burst sequence is suited for processors that utilize a linear burst sequence. The burst order is user-selectable, and is determined by sampling the MODE input. Accesses can be initiated with either the Processor Address Strobe (ADSP) or the Controller Address Strobe (ADSC). Address advancement through the burst sequence is controlled by the ADV input. A two-bit on-chip wraparound burst counter captures the first address in a burst sequence and automatically increments the address for the rest of the burst access. Byte write operations are qualified with the Byte Write Enable (BWE) and Byte Write Select (BWx) inputs. A Global Write Enable (GW) overrides all byte write inputs and writes data to all four bytes. All writes are simplified with on-chip synchronous self-timed write circuitry. Three synchronous Chip Selects (CE1, CE2, CE3) and an asynchronous Output Enable (OE) provide for easy bank selection and output tri-state control. ADSP is ignored if CE1 is HIGH. Single Read Accesses A single read access is initiated when the following conditions are satisfied at clock rise: (1) CE1, CE2, and CE3 are all asserted active, and (2) ADSP or ADSC is asserted LOW (if the access is initiated by ADSC, the write inputs must be deasserted during this first cycle). The address presented to the address inputs is latched into the address register and the burst counter/control logic and presented to the memory core. If the OE input is asserted LOW, the requested data is available at the data outputs a maximum to tCDV after clock rise. ADSP is ignored if CE1 is HIGH. Burst Sequences The CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 provides an on-chip two-bit wraparound burst counter inside the SRAM. The burst counter is fed by A[1:0], and can follow either a linear or interleaved burst order. The burst order is determined by the state of the MODE input. A LOW on MODE selects a linear burst sequence. A HIGH on MODE selects an interleaved burst order. Leaving MODE unconnected causes the device to default to a interleaved burst sequence. Sleep Mode The ZZ input pin is an asynchronous input. Asserting ZZ places the SRAM in a power conservation “sleep” mode. Two clock cycles are required to enter into or exit from this “sleep” mode. While in this mode, data integrity is guaranteed. Accesses pending when entering the “sleep” mode are not considered valid nor is the completion of the operation guaranteed. The device must be deselected prior to entering the “sleep” mode. CE1, CE2, CE3, ADSP, and ADSC must remain inactive for the duration of tZZREC after the ZZ input returns LOW. Interleaved Burst Address Table (MODE = Floating or VDD) First Address A1: A0 Second Address A1: A0 Third Address A1: A0 Fourth Address A1: A0 Single Write Accesses Initiated by ADSP 00 01 10 11 This access is initiated when the following conditions are satisfied at clock rise: (1) CE1, CE2, CE3 are all asserted active, and (2) ADSP is asserted LOW. The addresses presented are loaded into the address register and the burst inputs (GW, BWE, and BWX)are ignored during this first clock cycle. If the write inputs are asserted active (see Write Cycle Descriptions table for appropriate states that indicate a write) on the next clock rise, the appropriate data is latched and written into the device. Byte writes are allowed. All IOs are tri-stated during a byte write.Since this is a common IO device, the asynchronous OE input signal must be deasserted and the IOs must be tri-stated prior to the presentation of data to DQs. As a safety precaution, the data lines are tri-stated once a write cycle is detected, regardless of the state of OE. 01 00 11 10 10 11 00 01 11 10 01 00 Single Write Accesses Initiated by ADSC This write access is initiated when the following conditions are satisfied at clock rise: (1) CE1, CE2, and CE3 are all asserted active, (2) ADSC is asserted LOW, (3) ADSP is deasserted Document Number: 38-05357 Rev. *I Linear Burst Address Table (MODE = GND) First Address A1: A0 Second Address A1: A0 Third Address A1: A0 Fourth Address A1: A0 00 01 10 11 01 10 11 00 10 11 00 01 11 00 01 10 Page 10 of 34 [+] Feedback CY7C1441AV33 CY7C1443AV33, CY7C1447AV33 ZZ Mode Electrical Characteristics Parameter IDDZZ tZZS tZZREC tZZI tRZZI Description Test Conditions ZZ > VDD– 0.2 V ZZ > VDD – 0.2 V ZZ < 0.2 V This parameter is sampled This parameter is sampled Sleep mode standby current Device operation to ZZ ZZ recovery time ZZ active to sleep current ZZ Inactive to exit sleep current Min Max Unit – – 100 2tCYC – 2tCYC – mA ns ns ns ns 2tCYC – 0 Truth Table tThe truth table for CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 follows.[2, 3, 4, 5, 6] Cycle Description Address Used Deselected Cycle, Power down None H Deselected Cycle, Power down None L L Deselected Cycle, Power down None L X Deselected Cycle, Power down None L L Deselected Cycle, Power down None X Sleep Mode, Power down CE1 CE2 CE3 ZZ ADSP ADSC ADV WRITE OE CLK DQ L X L X X X L–H Tri-State X L L X X X X L–H Tri-State H L L X X X X L–H Tri-State X L H L X X X L–H Tri-State X X L H L X X X L–H Tri-State X X None X X X H X X X X X X Tri-State Read Cycle, Begin Burst Read Cycle, Begin Burst Write Cycle, Begin Burst Read Cycle, Begin Burst Read Cycle, Begin Burst Read Cycle, Continue Burst Read Cycle, Continue Burst Read Cycle, Continue Burst External External External External External Next Next Next L L L L L X X H H H H H H X X X L L L L L X X X L L L L L L L L L L H H H H H X X X L L L H H H X X X X X L L L X X L H H H H H L H X L H L H L L–H L–H L–H L–H L–H L–H L–H L–H Q Tri-State Read Cycle, Continue Burst Next H X X L X H L H H L–H Tri-State Write Cycle, Continue Burst Next X X X L H H L L X L–H D Write Cycle, Continue Burst Next H X X L X H L L X L–H D Read Cycle, Suspend Burst Current X X X L H H H H L L–H Q Read Cycle, Suspend Burst Current X X X L H H H H H L–H Tri-State Read Cycle, Suspend Burst Current H X X L X H H H L L–H Q Read Cycle, Suspend Burst Current H X X L X H H H H L–H Tri-State Write Cycle, Suspend Burst Current X X X L H H H L X L–H D Write Cycle, Suspend Burst Current H X X L X H H L X L–H D D Q Tri-State Q Tri-State Q Notes 2. The DQ pins are controlled by the current cycle and the OE signal. OE is asynchronous and is not sampled with the clock. 5. The SRAM always initiates a read cycle when ADSP is asserted, regardless of the state of GW, BWE, or BWX. Writes may occur only on subsequent clocks after the ADSP or with the assertion of ADSC. As a result, OE must be driven HIGH prior to the start of the write cycle to allow the outputs to tri-state. OE is a don't care for the remainder of the write cycle. 6. OE is asynchronous and is not sampled with the clock rise. It is masked internally during write cycles. During a read cycle all data bits are tri-state when OE is inactive or when the device is deselected, and all data bits behave as output when OE is active (LOW). This part is fully compliant with 1149.1. The TAP operates using JEDEC-standard 3.3 V or 2.5 V IO logic levels. The CY7C1441AV33/CY7C1443AV33/CY7C1447AV33 contains a TAP controller, instruction register, boundary scan register, bypass register, and ID register. Disabling the JTAG Feature It is possible to operate the SRAM without using the JTAG feature. To disable the TAP controller, TCK must be tied LOW (VSS) to prevent clocking of the device. TDI and TMS are internally pulled up and may be unconnected. They may alternately be connected to VDD through a pull up resistor. TDO should be left unconnected. Upon power up, the device comes up in a reset state which does not interfere with the operation of the device. TAP Controller State Diagram Test MODE SELECT (TMS) The TMS input is used to give commands to the TAP controller and is sampled on the rising edge of TCK. It is allowable to leave this ball unconnected if the TAP is not used. The ball is pulled up internally, resulting in a logic HIGH level. Test Data-In (TDI) The TDI ball is used to serially input information into the registers and can be connected to the input of any of the registers. The register between TDI and TDO is chosen by the instruction that is loaded into the TAP instruction register. TDI is internally pulled up and can be unconnected if the TAP is unused in an application. TDI is connected to the most significant bit (MSB) of any register. (See TAP Controller Block Diagram.) Test Data-Out (TDO) The TDO output ball is used to serially clock data-out from the registers. The output is active depending upon the current state of the TAP state machine. The output changes on the falling edge of TCK. TDO is connected to the least significant bit (LSB) of any register. (See TAP Controller State Diagram.) A RESET is performed by forcing TMS HIGH (VDD) for five rising edges of TCK. This RESET does not affect the operation of the SRAM and may be performed while the SRAM is operating. Test Access Port (TAP) At power up, the TAP is reset internally to ensure that TDO comes up in a High Z state. Test Clock (TCK) The test clock is used only with the TAP controller. All inputs are captured on the rising edge of TCK. All outputs are driven from the falling edge of TCK. Document Number: 38-05357 Rev. *I TAP Registers Registers are connected between the TDI and TDO balls and scan data into and out of the SRAM test circuitry. Only one register can be selected at a time through the instruction register. Data is serially loaded into the TDI ball on the rising edge of TCK. Data is output on the TDO ball on the falling edge of TCK. Page 13 of 34 [+] Feedback CY7C1441AV33 CY7C1443AV33, CY7C1447AV33 Instruction Register IDCODE Three-bit instructions can be serially loaded into the instruction register. This register is loaded when it is placed between the TDI and TDO balls as shown in the TAP Controller Block Diagram on page 13. Upon power up, the instruction register is loaded with the IDCODE instruction. It is also loaded with the IDCODE instruction if the controller is placed in a reset state as described in the previous section. The IDCODE instruction loads a vendor-specific, 32-bit code into the instruction register. It also places the instruction register between the TDI and TDO balls and shifts the IDCODE out of the device when the TAP controller enters the Shift-DR state. When the TAP controller is in the Capture-IR state, the two least significant bits are loaded with a binary “01” pattern to allow for fault isolation of the board-level serial test data path. Bypass Register To save time when serially shifting data through registers, it is sometimes advantageous to skip certain chips. The bypass register is a single-bit register that can be placed between the TDI and TDO balls. This shifts data through the SRAM with minimal delay. The bypass register is set LOW (VSS) when the BYPASS instruction is executed. Boundary Scan Register The boundary scan register is connected to all the input and bidirectional balls on the SRAM. The boundary scan register is loaded with the contents of the RAM IO ring when the TAP controller is in the Capture-DR state and is then placed between the TDI and TDO balls when the controller is moved to the Shift-DR state. The EXTEST, SAMPLE/PRELOAD and SAMPLE Z instructions can be used to capture the contents of the IO ring. The Boundary Scan Order tables show the order in which the bits are connected. Each bit corresponds to one of the bumps on the SRAM package. The MSB of the register is connected to TDI, and the LSB is connected to TDO. Identification (ID) Register The ID register is loaded with a vendor-specific, 32-bit code during the Capture-DR state when the IDCODE command is loaded in the instruction register. The IDCODE is hardwired into the SRAM and can be shifted out when the TAP controller is in the Shift-DR state. The ID register has a vendor code and other information described in the Identification Register Definitions table. TAP Instruction Set Overview The IDCODE instruction is loaded into the instruction register upon power up or whenever the TAP controller is given a test logic reset state. SAMPLE Z The SAMPLE Z instruction connects the boundary scan register between the TDI and TDO pins when the TAP controller is in a Shift-DR state. The SAMPLE Z command puts the output bus into a High Z state until the next command is given during the “Update IR” state. SAMPLE/PRELOAD SAMPLE/PRELOAD is a 1149.1 mandatory instruction. When the SAMPLE/PRELOAD instructions are loaded into the instruction register and the TAP controller is in the Capture-DR state, a snapshot of data on the inputs and output pins is captured in the boundary scan register. The user must be aware that the TAP controller clock can only operate at a frequency up to 20 MHz, while the SRAM clock operates more than an order of magnitude faster. Because there is a large difference in the clock frequencies, it is possible that during the Capture-DR state, an input or output undergoes a transition. The TAP may then try to capture a signal while in transition (metastable state). This does not harm the device, but there is no guarantee as to the value that is captured. Repeatable results may not be possible. To guarantee that the boundary scan register captures the correct value of a signal, the SRAM signal must be stabilized long enough to meet the TAP controller’s capture setup plus hold times (tCS and tCH). The SRAM clock input might not be captured correctly if there is no way in a design to stop (or slow) the clock during a SAMPLE/PRELOAD instruction. If this is an issue, it is still possible to capture all other signals and simply ignore the value of the CK and CK captured in the boundary scan register. After the data is captured, it is possible to shift out the data by putting the TAP into the Shift-DR state. This places the boundary scan register between the TDI and TDO pins. PRELOAD places an initial data pattern at the latched parallel outputs of the boundary scan register cells prior to the selection of another boundary scan test operation. Eight different instructions are possible with the three bit instruction register. All combinations are listed in the Instruction Codes table. Three of these instructions are listed as RESERVED and should not be used. The other five instructions are described in this section in detail. The shifting of data for the SAMPLE and PRELOAD phases can occur concurrently when required—that is, while data captured is shifted out, the preloaded data can be shifted in. Instructions are loaded into the TAP controller during the Shift-IR state when the instruction register is placed between TDI and TDO. During this state, instructions are shifted through the instruction register through the TDI and TDO balls. To execute the instruction once it is shifted in, the TAP controller must be moved into the Update-IR state. When the BYPASS instruction is loaded in the instruction register and the TAP is placed in a Shift-DR state, the bypass register is placed between the TDI and TDO pins. The advantage of the BYPASS instruction is that it shortens the boundary scan path when multiple devices are connected together on a board. Document Number: 38-05357 Rev. *I BYPASS Page 14 of 34 [+] Feedback CY7C1441AV33 CY7C1443AV33, CY7C1447AV33 the current instruction. When HIGH, it enables the output buffers to drive the output bus. When LOW, this bit places the output bus into a High Z condition. EXTEST The EXTEST instruction drives the preloaded data out through the system output pins. This instruction also connects the boundary scan register for serial access between the TDI and TDO in the shift-DR controller state. This bit can be set by entering the SAMPLE/PRELOAD or EXTEST command, and then shifting the desired bit into that cell, during the “Shift-DR” state. During “Update-DR”, the value loaded into that shift-register cell latches into the preload register. When the EXTEST instruction is entered, this bit directly controls the output Q-bus pins. Note that this bit is pre-set HIGH to enable the output when the device is powered-up, and also when the TAP controller is in the “Test-Logic-Reset” state. EXTEST OUTPUT BUS TRI-STATE IEEE Standard 1149.1 mandates that the TAP controller be able to put the output bus into a tri-state mode. The boundary scan register has a special bit located at bit #89 (for 165-ball FBGA package) or bit #138 (for 209-ball FBGA package). When this scan cell, called the “extest output bus tri-state”, is latched into the preload register during the “Update-DR” state in the TAP controller, it directly controls the state of the output (Q-bus) pins, when the EXTEST is entered as Reserved These instructions are not implemented but are reserved for future use. This part has a voltage regulator internally; tPOWER is the time that the power must be supplied above VDD(minimum) initially, before a read or write operation can be initiated. 21. tCHZ, tCLZ,tOELZ, and tOEHZ are specified with AC test conditions shown in part (b) of Figure 2 on page 21. Transition is measured ± 200 mV from steady-state voltage. 22. At any given voltage and temperature, tOEHZ is less than tOELZ and tCHZ is less than tCLZ to eliminate bus contention between SRAMs when sharing the same data bus. These specifications do not imply a bus contention condition, but reflect parameters guaranteed over worst case user conditions. Device is designed to achieve High Z prior to Low Z under the same system conditions. 23. This parameter is sampled and not 100% tested.
