LNA using BGB741L7 for FM/VHF/UHF 76-880MHz Applications

Description
This Technical report provides the actual results of the LNA using the BGB741L7 from
Infineon Technologies for 76-880MHz applications.
This Low Noise Amplifier brings a gain of 17.2dB minimum between the frequency
Range of 76-880MHz with a noise figure of 1.45dB (including SMA connectors and PCB
losses of 0.1dB).
Furthermore, this device provides an unconditional stability from 10MHz up to 10GHz. The
circuit is matched in input and output and presents an input return loss of 8.9dB (for FM) and
14.4dB (for UHF). The LNA brings a minimum matching of 11.3dB at the output.
At the frequency of 100MHz, using two tones spacing by 1MHz, the output third-order
intercept point reaches 15.7dBm. Besides we obtain an input -1dB compression point of
-5.7dBm.
