REMOTE CONTROL PANEL
APPLICATION NOTE #3
January 2, 1997
PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for
wiring and control schemes for the Bulletin 1336 AC Drive.
This document is to be used as a suggestion only. Users
must
ensure that installations meet applicable codes and are
suitable for the existing conditions.
The Bulletin 1336 User Manual should be used as a
reference
to ensure that proper wire selection, routing, and fusing
guidelines are followed.
WHAT THIS NOTE
control
CONTAINS
is
The 1336-MOD-RP2 and 1336-MOD-RP3 can be utilized to
the 1336 drive start/stop functions. This control option
not compatible with the 1336-MOD-L1,L2,L3 when the
start/stop functions at TB3 terminals 19 and 20 are setup
for 2-wire control.
INTENDED
AUDIENCE
This application note is intended to be used by personnel
familiar with the hardware components and programming
procedure necessary to operate the Bulletin 1336/1336VT.
WHERE IT
IS USED
The diagrams, parameter settings, and auxiliary hardware
used in this application note are designed to address
specific issues in many different applications. Some
changes
by the Users may be necessary to apply the concepts of
this
document to a specific application.

DESCRIPTION
The following warning is located on page 2 of publication
1336-5.57.
============================================================
ATTENTION: Unexpected machine motion can cause injury or
death. A maintained start command or 2-wire control
between
terminals 19 and 20 of TB3 on option L1,L2,or L3 will
affect
the Control Panel stop push-button operation. The drive
will
automatically restart after the local Stop push-button is
depressed and released.
Do not use the RP2 or RP3 remote control panel with option
L1,L2 or L3 in a 2-wire start/stop control application.
===============================================================
The FA2 STOP button is a momentary input. If the TWO-WIRE
input is present for start/stop when the STOP button on
the
FA2 is released, the drive will START.
To avoid this unexpected restart of the drive, a timing
circuit must be installed into the control logic for the
START input, TB3 terminal 19. The timing relay will
interrupt power to terminal 19 after the time setting
expires. To restart the drive after it has been stopped,
the
start/stop contact must be opened and reclosed. Refer to
figure 1 for the 115vac interface MOD-L3.
Refer to figure 2 for the TTL interface (MOD-L1).
NOTE: The relay Labeled as 1TR is a Bulletin 700-F220A1
with
a Pneumatic timer Bulletin 196-FTB.
NOTE: For use with the MOD-L2 (24vdc interface) a 24vdc
power supply should be inserted in place of the
control transformer located on figure 1.
The timer relay must also be changed to accommodate
the new voltage, use a Bulletin 700DC-F220Z24 with
the 196-FTB.
NOTE:
For use on 120V AC ungrounded systems, refer to
application note #12, 1336 120V AC Interface
Grounded/Ungrounded.
