ALLEN-BRADLEY ALLEN-BRADLEY BULLETIN 1336 1336-MOD-RP2,RP3 REMOTE CONTROL PANEL APPLICATION NOTE #3 January 2, 1997 PURPOSE The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for wiring and control schemes for the Bulletin 1336 AC Drive. This document is to be used as a suggestion only. Users must ensure that installations meet applicable codes and are suitable for the existing conditions. The Bulletin 1336 User Manual should be used as a reference to ensure that proper wire selection, routing, and fusing guidelines are followed. WHAT THIS NOTE control CONTAINS is The 1336-MOD-RP2 and 1336-MOD-RP3 can be utilized to the 1336 drive start/stop functions. This control option not compatible with the 1336-MOD-L1,L2,L3 when the start/stop functions at TB3 terminals 19 and 20 are setup for 2-wire control. INTENDED AUDIENCE This application note is intended to be used by personnel familiar with the hardware components and programming procedure necessary to operate the Bulletin 1336/1336VT. WHERE IT IS USED The diagrams, parameter settings, and auxiliary hardware used in this application note are designed to address specific issues in many different applications. Some changes by the Users may be necessary to apply the concepts of this document to a specific application. TERMS AND DEFINITIONS FA2 - is the membrane type control panel containing the STOP, START, JOG, and DIRECTION buttons. 1336-MOD-L1 - TTL logic interface card. 1336-MOD-L2 - 24VDC logic interface card. 1336-MOD-L3 - 115VAC logic interface card. 1336-MOD-RP2 - remote programming and display with control panel for start/stop,jog,reverse,and speed. 1336-MOD-RP3 - remote programming and display with control 1 ALLEN-BRADLEY panel for start/stop,jog,and reverse. 2 ALLEN-BRADLEY DESCRIPTION The following warning is located on page 2 of publication 1336-5.57. ============================================================ ATTENTION: Unexpected machine motion can cause injury or death. A maintained start command or 2-wire control between terminals 19 and 20 of TB3 on option L1,L2,or L3 will affect the Control Panel stop push-button operation. The drive will automatically restart after the local Stop push-button is depressed and released. Do not use the RP2 or RP3 remote control panel with option L1,L2 or L3 in a 2-wire start/stop control application. =============================================================== The FA2 STOP button is a momentary input. If the TWO-WIRE input is present for start/stop when the STOP button on the FA2 is released, the drive will START. To avoid this unexpected restart of the drive, a timing circuit must be installed into the control logic for the START input, TB3 terminal 19. The timing relay will interrupt power to terminal 19 after the time setting expires. To restart the drive after it has been stopped, the start/stop contact must be opened and reclosed. Refer to figure 1 for the 115vac interface MOD-L3. Refer to figure 2 for the TTL interface (MOD-L1). NOTE: The relay Labeled as 1TR is a Bulletin 700-F220A1 with a Pneumatic timer Bulletin 196-FTB. NOTE: For use with the MOD-L2 (24vdc interface) a 24vdc power supply should be inserted in place of the control transformer located on figure 1. The timer relay must also be changed to accommodate the new voltage, use a Bulletin 700DC-F220Z24 with the 196-FTB. NOTE: For use on 120V AC ungrounded systems, refer to application note #12, 1336 120V AC Interface Grounded/Ungrounded. 3 ALLEN-BRADLEY REMOTE PANEL WITH 115V AC INTERFACE 48-62HZ 460V AC L1 L2 L3 115V AC TB1 TB2 1 POT HIGH 2 POT WIPER BULLETIN 1336 3 POT/SIGNAL COMMON 4 5 0-10V INPUT 6 4-20MA INPUT 7 PULSE INPUT (-) 8 PULSE INPUT (+) MOD-RP2 or 9 5V METER OUTPUT MOD-RP3 J2 10 AT SPEED 11 AT SPEED/RUN COMMON 12 RUN 13 FAULT 14 FAULT/NOT FAULT COMMON 15 NOT FAULT 16 ALARM 17 ALARM/NOT ALARM COMMON 18 NOT ALARM 1TR START/ STOP 1TR 3 SEC CUSTOMER INTERLOCK CUSTOMER INTERLOCK TB3 MOD-L3 115VAC INTERFACE 19 START 20 STOP 21 COMMON 22 JOG 23 REVERSE 24 SW1 25 COMMON 26 SW2 27 SPEED SELECT 28 AUX 29 COMMON 30 ENABLE TB1 M1 M2 M3 GND MOTOR FIGURE #1 4 ALLEN-BRADLEY REMOTE PANEL WITH TTL INTERFACE 460V AC 48-62HZ L1 L2 L3 115V AC TB1 START/STOP TB2 1TR 1 POT HIGH 2 POT WIPER BULLETIN 1336 3 POT/SIGNAL COMMON 4 5 0-10V INPUT 6 4-20MA INPUT 7 PULSE INPUT (-) 8 PULSE INPUT (+) MOD-RP2 or 9 5V METER OUTPUT MOD-RP3 10 AT SPEED 11 AT SPEED/RUN COMMON 12 RUN 13 FAULT 14 FAULT/NOT FAULT COMMON 15 NOT FAULT 16 ALARM 17 ALARM/NOT ALARM COMMON 18 NOT ALARM TB3 1TR J2 19 MOD-L1 TTL INTERFACE START 1TR 3 SEC CUSTOMER INTERLOCK CUSTOMER INTERLOCK 20 STOP 21 COMMON 22 JOG 23 REVERSE 24 SW1 25 COMMON 26 SW2 27 SPEED SELECT 28 AUX 29 COMMON 30 ENABLE TB1 M1 M2 FIGURE #2 M3 GND MOTOR 5
