Installation Guide - Cld

Description
Function and application
The EASY system coupler allows the interconnection and bidirectional communication between multiple EASY systems.
EASY SYS CP
In this way, up to 64 control units can be connected and the
number of operating components and the line length can be
increased.

The EASY system coupler operates as a signal amplifier and is
supplied directly from the EASY line. An internal galvanic isolation on both sides prevents unpredicted current flows between
the systems.
The LEDs can be used to check that the system coupler has
been wired correctly.
Design

The EASY system coupler is made up of the following components:
A I/O connections for control units
B LEDs
C Housing
Installation
Safety instructions
The system coupler must only be installed and put into operation by a qualified electrician. The applicable safety regulations
and accident prevention regulations must be observed.

Fitting instructions
WARNING!
Exposed, live cables.
Danger of electric shock!
• Only work on the system coupler when it is
de-energised.
CAUTION!
Destruction of the system coupler and other devices
through incorrect mounting!
• The EASY system coupler is designed for
mounting in closed housings. If mounted
separately, for example in a separate distributor
box, provide for sufficient cable strain relief and
adequate insulation against parts that conduct
mains voltage.
• Do not wire the system coupler with an external
voltage, especially not a mains voltage of 230 V.
• Do not exceed the maximum total line length and
the maximum number of connectable devices.
• Do not route the EASY signal lines together with
power supply or lamp lines.

• Connect at least one control unit to each I/O connection.
• M

Slave
• A
maximum of 4 EASY systems can be connected with each
other. The following restrictions apply to each EASY system:
–– Max. 16 control units
–– Max. 2 pushbutton couplers
–– Max. 4 infrared receivers
–– Max. total length of EASY line: 100 m
• Only one control unit may serve as the master in the overall
installation of all connected EASY systems. All other control
units must be configured as slaves via a bridge on the pushbutton input. See the separate instructions for the control
units DALI EASY II and OT
• Ensure that infrared receivers of different systems do not
receive signals from a remote control at the same time; see
the separate instructions of the DALI EASY RMC remote
control.
