It is mounted directly together with the ignition coil to a compact module. Slew rate controlled gate drive voltage for IGBT Soft turn-on function Soft switch-off function with safety timer Differential input for optimum suppression of ground shift disturbances Integrated power-on reset Supply voltage range 6V to 26V Operating temperature range – 40°C to + 140°C SOIC 8N package Corresponding to an input control signal the IC drives an IGBT, which provides the current to the ignition coil. An internal slew-rate control and programmable soft turn-on and soft switch-off functions ensure well defined timing of the ignition event and shall prevent IGBT and coil from overloads. The high circuit integration reduces the number of components for minimum sized electronics.
