DESCRIPTION
The BL 2514 is USB d edica ted ch arging po rt (DCP) con trolle rs . Applica tions in clude
ve hicle po we r ch arg e r, wall a dap te rs with USB DCP and o th er USB cha rge rs . The
BL2514 con trolle r ha s the a u to-de tec t fea ture tha t moni tors the D+ a nd D– li ne
vol tages of the USB c onnec to r, pro viding the corre ct elec trical s ignature s on the DP
and D M pins fo r the c orrec t de te cti ons of c ompliant po rtable d e vices to fas t cha rge .
These po rtable de vic es i nclude smart pho nes , 5-V table ts and pers onal media
pla ye rs .

and 2V i s applied to the DM pi n . If a BC1 .2 -complian t de vice is attac hed , the BL25 14
automa ticall y s witche s in to sho rt mode . If a de vice c ompliant wi th the 1 .2V / 1 .2V

The BL 2514 p ro vi de two type s of conne c tio ns be tween the DP pi n an d the DM pin
and be tween the D+ data lin e and the D– data lin e of the USB connec to r fo r a 5 -W
USB cha rge r and a 1 0-W USB cha rge r wi th a si ngle USB p ort. For 5 -W USB charger,
the DP1 pin is c onne cte d to th e D– lin e an d the DM1 pin is con nec ted to the D+ line .
This i s sho wn in Figu re belo w. Fo r 10 -W USB cha rge r, the DP1 pin is conne c ted to
the D+ lin e and the D M1 pin is co nnec ted to the D– line . This i s shown i n Figu re
