NPA Number 001 July 2011 New Product Announcement AP7362 / AP7363 1.5A, Low quiescent current, fast transient ultra-low dropout linear regulator The AP7362 and AP7363 are a 1.5A adjustable output voltage linear regulator with ultra-low dropout voltage. The devices include pass element, error amplifier, bandgap, current limit and thermal shutdown circuitry. The AP7362 has integrated Enable block which allows the part to be turned on and off via a logic signal. The low dropout voltage characteristics and fast transient response to step changes in load, make it suitable for low voltage microprocessor applications. The typical quiescent current is approximately 0.5mA and changes little with load current. The built-in current-limit and thermal-shutdown functions prevent damage to the IC in fault conditions. AP7362 is available in UDFN2030-8 and SO-8EP packages and AP7363 additionally in SOT223-3L.
