HIGH REPEATABILITY 8 GHz TO-5 RELAYS SIGNAL INTEGRITY TO 12Gbps DPDT SERIES DESIGNATION RELAY TYPE RF312 Repeatable, RF TO-5 relay INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION SERIES RF312 PERFORMANCE FEATURES The ultra miniature RF312 is designed to improve upon the RF300/RF303 relay’s high frequency performance. The RF312 offers monotonic insertion loss to 8 GHz. This improvement in RF insertion loss over the frequency range, makes these relays highly suitable for use in attenuator and other RF circuits. The RF312 features: • High repeatability. • Broader bandwidth. • Metal enclosure for EMI shielding. • Ground pin option to improve case grounding. • High isolation between control and signal paths. • Highly resistant to ESD. ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS Temperature (Ambient) Storage –65°C to +125°C Operating –55°C to +85°C Vibration (General Note 1) 10 g’s to 500 Hz Shock (General Note 1) 30 g’s, 6ms half sine Enclosure Hermetically sealed Weight 0.09 oz. (2.55g) max. CONSTRUCTION FEATURES The following unique construction features and manufacturing techniques provide excellent resistance to environmental extremes and overall high reliability. • Uni-frame motor design provides high magnetic efficiency and mechanical rigidity. • Minimum mass components and welded construction provide maximum resistance to shock and vibration. • Advanced cleaning techniques assurance of internal cleanliness. provide maximum • Gold-plated precious metal alloy contacts ensure reliable switching. • Hermetically sealed. • Solderable leads. © 2008 Teledyne Relays (800) 284-7007 • www.teledynerelays.com ❖ +44 (0) 1236 453124 • www.teledyne-europe.com RF312 Page 1 RF312\012008\Q1 SERIES RF312 TYPICAL RF CHARACTERISTICS (See RF Notes) Isolation Across Contacts (RF Note 3) Insertion Loss (RF Note 4) 0 0 -0.2 -10 -0.4 Insertion Loss (dB) Isolation (dB) -20 -30 -40 -0.8 -1 Normally Closed -1.2 Normally Open -1.4 -1.6 Normally Closed -50 -0.6 Normally Open -1.8 -2 -60 0 1000 2000 3000 4000 5000 6000 7000 8000 9000 0 10000 1000 2000 3000 4000 5000 6000 7000 8000 9000 10000 Frequency (MHz) Frequency (MHz) VSWR (RF Note 4) Isolation Pole to Pole (RF Note 4) 0 2 1.9 -10 1.8 1.7 Isolation (dB) -20 VSWR 1.6 Normally Closed 1.5 Normally Open 1.4 -30 De-Energized -40 1.3 Energized 1.2 -50 1.1 1 -60 0 1000 2000 3000 4000 5000 6000 7000 8000 9000 10000 0 1000 2000 3000 4000 Frequency (MHz) 5000 6000 7000 8000 9000 10000 Frequency (MHz) Time Response (RF Note 4) 1.1 0.9 90% Volt 0.7 37ps reference 0.5 62.3ps propagation delay time 0.3 51.1ps pulse rise time 10% 0.1 -0.1 -100 0 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 Time (ps) RF NOTES 1.
