How to Use the 13200B
Connect a +8 to +30V DC power source to pins 8 and 9.
Connect a differential or floating input A/D converter to each
signal and signal common pins (pins 5 and 6 for Accelerometer 1
and pins 3 and 2 for Temperature). For best results use a converter
with an input impedance greater than 1MΩ and common mode
rejection ratio greater than 60dB. Single-ended converters are not
recommended but if used, leave Signal Common unconnected to
eliminate ground loops. A positive acceleration (labeled on the
accelerometer cover) causes a positive change on the
corresponding output.
➤ Keep cable lengths between the accelerometer and A/D converter
as short as practical. Use shielded twisted pair wiring, especially
near electric motors or other noise sources.
➤ As a rule of thumb, sample frequency should be at least 10 times
the signal bandwidth when linear interpolation is used for signal
reconstruction. Built-in or external low-pass filtering can be used
to lower the noise floor and eliminate spurious peak
measurements from short-duration shock impulses with
insignificant energy content.
➤ A logic 1 on the self-test input will add 0.25 to 0.6V* to the
accelerometer output. A change of less than +0.25V* or more
than +0.6V* indicates a defective channel, shorted pin, or broken
wire. The self-test signal is approximate and should not be used
for calibration. If the self-test feature will not be used, pin 7
should be connected to pin 9.

Use two 3,0 x 0,5 mm thread machine screws to attach to the
bottom or rear 13200B mount faces. Be careful not to bottom
screws in tapped holes as this can strip threads. Alternatively, the
two thru holes allow two #6 or two 3,5 mm screws to be used to
mount the 13200B from the top.
➤ A light film of oil or silicone grease can be used to enhance
contact between mounting surfaces.
➤ A locking compound should be used on all threads to prevent
screws loosening due to vibrations.
