GENERAL DESCRIPTION Aeroflex’s RHD5961, RHD5962 and RHD5963 are radiation hardened, single supply, Voltage Reference and Buffered Thermometer in 3-pad SMD-0.5, and 5-pad Power SMD Packages. The RHD596x series design uses specific circuit topology and layout methods to mitigate total ionizing dose effects and single event latchup. These characteristics make the RHD596x series especially suited for the harsh environment encountered in Deep Space missions. They are guaranteed operational from -55°C to +125°C. Available screened in accordance with MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, the RHD596x series are ideal for demanding military and space applications. The RHD596x series integrated circuit die is mounted directly to the metal signal pad providing optimum thermal conduction to the printed circuit board bond sites. The RHD5963 has an external enable signal (EN) which, when set low, enables a "Sleep Mode" that disables all internal bias generators and sets both VTHERM & VREF outputs to high impedance state resulting in a reduced current consumption to below 300nA.
