General Description
TS4266G is a 5V low-drop fixed-voltage regulator in an SOT-223-4L package. It can be switched ON and OFF by the
Inhibit pin. It is functional and pin compatible to the TS4266, but with a reduced quiescent current of <1uA in OFF mode
and 40uA in ON mode. The TS4266G is especially designed for all applications that require very low quiescent current
in ON and OFF mode. It is designed to supply microprocessor systems under the sever condition of automotive
applications and therefore it is equipped with additional protection against over load, short circuit and over temperature.
TS4266G also can be used in other applications, where a stabilized voltage and the inhibit feature is required. The IC
regulates an input voltage in the range of 5.5V < Vin < 45V to Vout(rated) = 5.0V. The maximum output current is more
than 150mA. This IC is regulated at the inhibit pin pull high level voltage.

Application Information
Dimensioning Information on External Components
The input capacitor Cin is necessary for compensating line influences (100nF ceramic capacitor recommended). Using
a resistor of approx. 1Ω in series with Cin, the oscillating of input inductivity and input capacitance can be clamped. In
the application circuit shown, an additional electrolytic input capacitor of 470uF is added in order to buffer supply line
influences. This capacitor is recommended, if the device is sourced via long supply lines of several meters.
The output capacitor Cout is necessary for the stability of the regulating circuit. Stability is guaranteed at values Cout
≥10uF and an ESR ≤ 4Ω within the operating temperature range.
Circuit Description
The control amplifier compares a reference voltage of 2.5V typical, the regulation loop controls the output to achieve
an output voltage of 5V with an accuracy of +/-2% at an input voltage up to 45V. The minimum required input voltage
is Vout + Vdrop.
The TS4266G can supply up to 150mA. However for protection reasons at high input voltage above 25V, the
maximum output current is reduced (SOA protection). The IC is additionally protected against overload, over
temperature and reverse polarity
