PASSIVE CABLE EQUALISER FE1118 Signals are attenuated whenever they are transmitted through coaxial cable. The main problem is attenuation which is directly related to the frequency and length and type of cable used. Amplitude responses which started out flat can be distorted to a point outside specification. Faraday passive cable equalisers will correct for the distortion producing a nominally flat amplitude response with minimum additional insertion loss. They are manufactured in rugged die-cast boxes with choice of convenient connector. A typical application is to correct for cabling in a cross site link. The FE1118 specified is designed for 70 MHz I.F. links with LMR 200 cable.
