Full galvanic insulation Protection against communication channel shorts Compact dimensions Plastic case with transparent cover High reliability connectors The GSCB6-C communication board extends the capabilities of the GSCB6 SCR Firing Board by providing the following functions: - Connection to the RS422/RS485 balanced transmission lines as specified by the following ANSI Standards TIA/EIA-422-B and TIA/EIA-485-A. - Connection to the CAN (Controller Area Network) as specified by the ISO 11898 Standard. - Galvanic isolation is provided between the transmission lines and SCR Firing Board by using optocouplers. Additional features: CAN Bus connection – Onboard 120 Ω termination is provided which can be enabled/disabled with a jumper. RS422/RS485 – On board 120 Ω termination is provided which can be enabled/disabled with a jumper; – Failsafe protection for open/short line conditions.
