Alcatel 1936 OFA D-WDM, Add Drop MUX, L-Band Erbium-doped fiber amplifier Description Features The Alcatel 1936 OFA (Optical Fiber Amplifier) is designed to offer excellent performance characteristics for WDM systems in the 1569 - 1604 nm wavelength range. The standard, double-stage 17 dBm unit can be supplemented using external pump modules to achieve outputs of 20 dBm or 23 dBm. A 9 dB mid-amplifier loss port has been designed in to allow for A/DMUX functions or dispersion compensation. Tap couplers at each signal port offer full monitoring capability. The Alcatel 1936 OFA achieves very flat gain in excess of 28 dB, while limiting gain excursion to < 1 Db (typical) over the entire 35 nm wavelength range @ 25°C.
