SEMICONDUCTOR TECHNICAL DATA The MC100LVEL31 is a D flip-flop with set and reset. The device is functionally equivalent to the EL31 device but operates from a –3.3V (or +3.3V) supply. With propagation delays and output transition times essentially equivalent to the EL31, the LVEL31 is ideally suited for those applications which require the ultimate in AC performance at low power supply voltages. Both set and reset inputs are asynchronous, level triggered signals. Data enters the master portion of the flip-flop when clock is LOW and is transferred to the slave, and thus the outputs, upon a positive transition of the clock. • • • • 8 1 D SUFFIX PLASTIC SOIC PACKAGE CASE 751-05 475ps Propagation Delay 2.9GHz Toggle Frequency 75kΩ Internal Input Pulldown Resistors >2000V ESD Protection LOGIC DIAGRAM AND PINOUT ASSIGNMENT S 1 D 2 8 VCC 7 Q TRUTH TABLE S D Flip Flop CLK 3 6 Q 5 VEE R R 4 3–1 S R CLK Q L H X X X L L H L H L L L H H Z Z X X X L H H L Undef Z = LOW to HIGH Transition 10/96 Motorola, Inc. 1996 D REV 0 MC100LVEL31 DC CHARACTERISTICS (VEE = VEE(min) to VEE(max); VCC = GND) –40°C Symbol Characteristic Min IEE Power Supply Current VEE Power Supply Voltage IIH Input HIGH Current IIL Input LOW Current –3.0 0°C Typ Max 30 35 –3.3 –3.8 Min –3.0 Typ Max 30 35 –3.3 –3.8 150 0.5 25°C Min –3.0 Typ Max 30 35 –3.3 –3.8 150 0.5 85°C Min –3.0 Typ Max Unit 32 38 mA –3.3 –3.8 V 150 µA 150 0.5 µA 0.5 AC CHARACTERISTICS (VEE = VEE(min) to VEE(max); VCC = GND) –40°C Symbol Characteristic fMAX Maximum Toggle Frequency tPLH tPHL Propagation Delay to Output tS tH Min Typ Max 2.7 Min Typ 25°C Max 2.9 Min Typ 85°C Max 2.9 Min Typ Max 2.9 Unit GHz ps 365 385 465 475 Setup Time Hold Time 150 250 tRR Set/Reset Recovery 400 tPW Minimum Pulse Width CLK, Set, Reset 600 tr tf Output Rise/Fall Times Q (20% – 80%) 120 MOTOROLA 0°C CLK S, R 580 620 365 385 465 475 0 100 150 250 200 400 580 620 375 395 475 485 0 100 150 250 200 400 600 220 320 120 590 630 415 435 530 525 0 100 150 250 0 100 ps 200 400 200 ps 600 220 3–2 320 120 630 670 600 220 320 120 ps 220 320 ps ECLinPS and ECLinPS Lite DL140 — Rev 3 MC100LVEL31 OUTLINE DIMENSIONS D SUFFIX PLASTIC SOIC PACKAGE CASE 751–05 ISSUE P –A– M 1 4 R 0.25 (0.010) 4X –B– X 45 _ B M 5 P 8 NOTES: 1.
