EASY Touch Panel
Description
Description
Purpose and application
The EASY Touch Panel is used to directly control 4 light groups (expandable to 16)
and to retrieve as many as 64 light scenes. Integrated switch contacts can be used to
switch 4 non-dimmable loads or operate two blinds/screens. RGB elements or lamps
with changeable colour temperatures can be controlled statically and dynamically.
Integrating the DALI EASY makes the Touch Panel a full control unit used to control up
to 4 light groups without the need for additional components.
On the Touch Panel, the operating elements can be arranged as required and displayed in multiple languages on up to three screen pages.
Function
When the user touches the operating elements, the Touch Panel evaluates and
converts the signals to digital control commands. The commands are transmitted via a
control line to the respective electronic control gear units.
Design
The touch panel consists of the following components:
• Magnetically fixed, removable front frame
• Electronic box with backlit LCD and touch-sensitive surface (A)
• SD card slot (B)
• Operating LED (C)
• EASY bus socket (D) for programming via PC
• DIP switches (E) behind panel
• Connector on the right side:
––EASY bus
• Rear connectors:
––Power supply
––DALI output
––EASY bus
––Relays

Installation
Installation
Safety instructions
The touch panel must be installed and put into operation by a qualified electrician
only. The applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be
observed.
WARNING!
Exposed, live cables.
Danger of electric shock!
• Work on the Touch Panel only when it is de-energised.
CAUTION!
Incorrect mounting of the Touch Panel and other devices can result in their destruction!
•
The EASY Touch Panel can only be used to control electronic control gear with
DALI interfaces or components with an EASY interface.
•
•
Do not operate other control units on the DALI control lines.
•
•
Adequately insulate sockets and wires that are not required.
When connecting, make sure that the insulation between the network, DALI,
EASY and relay connection lines is sufficient.
The EASY control unit is specifically designed for the installation of flush device
boxes; stand-alone installation is not permissible.
Mounting notes
• The Touch Panel can be installed in light weight construction/hollow walls or solid
walls. Suitable flush device boxes can be ordered separately from Osram:
––Light weight construction/hollow walls: “Hollow box” type, EAN 4008321552532
(F)
––Solid wall construction: “Concrete box” type, EAN 4008321552556 (G)
• Ensure that the flush device box is precisely aligned both horizontally and vertically.
• Do not mount the Touch Panel on uneven surfaces. It is imperative to avoid mechanical pressure and bending forces on the Touch Panel.

EASY Touch Panel
Installation
Procedure
Proceed as follows:
Step
Activity
1
Connection lines must be introduced into the rear of the flush device box from
above or below, and the wires stripped directly at the box wall.
2
Adjust the length of the connection wires, taking into account the position of
the connectors, and then strip approx. 5 mm of the required wires.
3
CAUTION!
Incorrect mounting of the Touch Panel and other devices can result in their
destruction!
•
It is particularly important to wire the mains connection correctly.
Check the connection assignment of the connectors against the numbering in
the diagram (see "Connection diagram") and connect the stripped wires to the
corresponding plugs.
6
4
Plug in the assigned connectors. Adequately insulate unneeded wires and
plug-in contacts.
5
Check the DIP switches for the relay function and, especially when controlling
blinds/screens, ensure that the DIP switches are in the correct position, see
"Basic settings".
6
Align the wires and slide the Touch Panel into the flush device box, ensuring
that you do not exert pressure or bending forces on the display.
7
Mount, align and fasten the Touch Panel in the flush device box using the
provided screws.
8
Protect the DIP switches from being changed without authorization using the
cover panel.

Operating modes
The Touch Panel supports two different operating modes.
• Non-addressed operation (delivered state)
All control units are addressed (“broadcast mode”). Individual control units can not
be operated separately. This operating mode is recommended if a maximum of 4
channels/light groups are to be controlled.
• Addressed operation
Up to 4 control units can be independently addressed. Up to 4 different lighting
zones can be controlled (e.g., the combination of coloured effect lighting and normal
room lighting or up to 16 channels/light groups). To use this mode, the addresses
1..4 must be previously assigned to the corresponding control units using the EASY
PC software.
Master/slave operation
The integrated DALI EASY control unit can be operated as a master or slave.
Note: .
When multiple EASY control units are installed, only one control unit can be configured as the master.
The integrated DALI EASY control unit can be deactivated, see “Service functions”.
