Integrated switch contacts can be used to switch 4 non-dimmable loads or operate two blinds/screens. RGB elements or lamps with changeable colour temperatures can be controlled statically and dynamically. Integrating the DALI EASY makes the Touch Panel a full control unit used to control up to 4 light groups without the need for additional components. On the Touch Panel, the operating elements can be arranged as required and displayed in multiple languages on up to three screen pages. Function When the user touches the operating elements, the Touch Panel evaluates and converts the signals to digital control commands. The commands are transmitted via a control line to the respective electronic control gear units. The applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be observed. WARNING! Exposed, live cables. Danger of electric shock! • Work on the Touch Panel only when it is de-energised. CAUTION! Incorrect mounting of the Touch Panel and other devices can result in their destruction! • The EASY Touch Panel can only be used to control electronic control gear with DALI interfaces or components with an EASY interface. • • Do not operate other control units on the DALI control lines. • • Adequately insulate sockets and wires that are not required. When connecting, make sure that the insulation between the network, DALI, EASY and relay connection lines is sufficient. The EASY control unit is specifically designed for the installation of flush device boxes; stand-alone installation is not permissible. Mounting notes • The Touch Panel can be installed in light weight construction/hollow walls or solid walls. Suitable flush device boxes can be ordered separately from Osram: ––Light weight construction/hollow walls: “Hollow box” type, EAN 4008321552532 (F) ––Solid wall construction: “Concrete box” type, EAN 4008321552556 (G) • Ensure that the flush device box is precisely aligned both horizontally and vertically. • Do not mount the Touch Panel on uneven surfaces. It is imperative to avoid mechanical pressure and bending forces on the Touch Panel. F EAN: 4008321552532 XII 2010 G EAN: 4008321552556 5 EASY Touch Panel Installation Procedure Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Connection lines must be introduced into the rear of the flush device box from above or below, and the wires stripped directly at the box wall. 2 Adjust the length of the connection wires, taking into account the position of the connectors, and then strip approx. 5 mm of the required wires. 3 CAUTION! Incorrect mounting of the Touch Panel and other devices can result in their destruction! • It is particularly important to wire the mains connection correctly. Check the connection assignment of the connectors against the numbering in the diagram (see "Connection diagram") and connect the stripped wires to the corresponding plugs. 6 4 Plug in the assigned connectors. Adequately insulate unneeded wires and plug-in contacts. 5 Check the DIP switches for the relay function and, especially when controlling blinds/screens, ensure that the DIP switches are in the correct position, see "Basic settings". 6 Align the wires and slide the Touch Panel into the flush device box, ensuring that you do not exert pressure or bending forces on the display. 7 Mount, align and fasten the Touch Panel in the flush device box using the provided screws. 8 Protect the DIP switches from being changed without authorization using the cover panel. Individual control units can not be operated separately. This operating mode is recommended if a maximum of 4 channels/light groups are to be controlled. • Addressed operation Up to 4 control units can be independently addressed. Up to 4 different lighting zones can be controlled (e.g., the combination of coloured effect lighting and normal room lighting or up to 16 channels/light groups). To use this mode, the addresses 1..4 must be previously assigned to the corresponding control units using the EASY PC software. Master/slave operation The integrated DALI EASY control unit can be operated as a master or slave. Note: . When multiple EASY control units are installed, only one control unit can be configured as the master. The integrated DALI EASY control unit can be deactivated, see “Service functions”. The individual steps are more closely described in the following sections. The configuration can then be stored on an SD card, see “Service functions”. Setup screen The Touch Panel is configured on the Setup screen. Proceed as follows to open and close the Setup screen: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Setup" button. Note: . The "Setup" button is only displayed when DIP switch 1 is set to "ON"; otherwise, the Setup screen is locked for users. The Setup screen appears: 2 10 Touch the required button, see the next section. To do this, touch a vacant area (light grey rectangle) on an operating screen and then on the "Insert" button on the task bar. Note: . The label and function of the moved operating element are retained. Back to the Setup screen Step 9 Activity When all inserted operating elements have been inserted, touch the "Setup" button to return to the Setup screen. Defining label languages Proceed as follows: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Languages" button. A screen appears showing German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and three other user-defined languages. 2 Touch the respective buttons to activate/deactivate individual languages. • • Light grey = activated Dark grey = deactivated Deactivated colours will not be available to the user later on as a label language. Only English is activated when the equipment is delivered. 3 XII 2010 Touch the "Setup" button to return to the Setup screen. 13 EASY Touch Panel Configuration Labelling the operating elements All operating elements can be labelled in the defined labelling languages. Proceed as follows: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Label" button. The top half of the first operating screen and a list of the available languages appear. 2 Touch the desired language. 3 If necessary, touch the following buttons on the task bar: Change between the three operating screens. .. .. 4 Change to the bottom/top half of the selected operating screen. Touch the desired operating element. A keyboard appears. 5 Enter the desired label by touching the keyboard buttons.. A preview of the operating element is displayed above the keyboard. 6 Touch the "Cancel" or "Ok" button on the task bar to discard the label or save it. .. Configuring the operating element functions Note: . The operating mode selected for the Touch Panel (addressed/non-addressed operation) has an influence on the possible configuration of an operating element, see "Basic settings". Operating element types The basic function is linked to the operating element type. XII 2010 15 EASY Touch Panel Configuration General procedure Proceed as follows: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Function" button. The first operating screen appears. 2 If necessary, touch the following buttons on the task bar: Change between the three operating screens. .. 3 Touch the desired operating element. Depending on the selected operating element, a special configuration screen appears containing all function settings selectable for this operating element type. The existing setting is highlighted. The task bar shows the type (e.g., Scene function) and label (e.g. Light Scene 1) of the selected operating element. 4 Select the desired function by touching the available buttons. See the following sections. Note: . If the Touch Panel is configured for the addressed operation by DIP switch 2, the respective function can be sent addressed to individual control units. Otherwise, all connected EASY control units will react. 5 Touch the "Cancel" or "Ok" button on the task bar to discard the configuration or save it. .. 16 XII 2010 EASY Touch Panel Configuration Configuring an operating element of the “Scene” type The “Scene” operating element type can be used to call up and save light scenes. Proceed as follows: Step Touch button(s) "Adr. 1" to "Adr. 4" or "All" to select the addresses of the control units to be controlled (addressed operation only). 2 Touch one of the buttons "A", "B", "C" or "D" to select the storage/sequence range of the light scene. 3 Touch one of the buttons "1" to "16" to select the scene number. 4 Touch the "Enable Storage" button if necessary. 5 XII 2010 Activity 1 • Light grey = Storage/changing of the light scene by applying extended pressure to the operating element is enabled. • Dark grey = Storage/changing of the light scene by applying extended pressure to the operating element is disabled. Touch the "Include Relay" button if necessary. • Light grey = The relay setting is taken into account when the scene is stored (prerequisite: scene storage enabled) and restored when the scene is called up. • Dark grey = The relay setting is not affected when the scene is called up. 17 EASY Touch Panel Configuration Configuring an operating element of the “Sequence” type Dynamic sequences can be started and stopped using the “Sequence” operating element type. Proceed as follows: Step 1 2 Activity Touch button(s) "Adr. 1" to "Adr. 4" or "All" to select the addresses of the control units to be controlled (addressed operation only). Touch the "Play" or "Stop" button: • • 3 Play: start sequence. Stop: stop sequence. Only if "Play" is selected: Touch one of the buttons "A", "B", "C" or "D" to select the corresponding sequence. Configuring an operating element of the “Switch” type The “Switch” operating element type can be used to switch luminaires and the integrated relays. Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Touch button(s) "Adr. 1" to "Adr. 4" or "All" to select the addresses of the control units to be controlled (addressed operation only). 2 Touch the desired channel number(s). 3 If necessary, touch the “Relay A..D” buttons to switch the corresponding relays. Precondition: DIP switches 4 and 5 are configured accordingly, see „Basic settings“. Configuring an operating element of the “Dim” type The “Dim” operating element type can be used to dim and switch luminaires. In addition, blinds and screens can be controlled. Proceed as follows: Step 18 Activity 1 Touch button(s) "Adr. 1" to "Adr. 4" or "All" to select the addresses of the control units to be controlled (addressed operation only). 2 Touch the desired channel number(s). 3 If necessary, touch the "Central Dimming" button if the lighting system is to be dimmed or switched centrally. XII 2010 EASY Touch Panel Configuration Step 4 Activity If necessary, touch the "Blinds 1" (relay A+B) or "Blinds 2" (relay C+D) buttons to activate the blind/screen operation for the corresponding relays. • • Light grey = blind/screen operation activated Dark grey = blind/screen operation deactivated Precondition: DIP switches 4 and 5 are configured accordingly, see "Basic settings". Configuring an operating element of the “Vary” type The “Vary” operating element type can be used to adjust the lighting colour (RGB mode) or colour temperature (tuneable white operation) or the brightness of the lighting. Note: To change the lighting colour (RGB mode), the red lighting colour must be connected to channel 1, green to channel 2 and blue to channel 3 of the corresponding control unit. To change the colour temperature (tuneable white operation), the warm white lighting colour must be connected to channel 1 and the cold white lighting colour must be connected to channel 3 of the corresponding control unit. See also the instructions of the respective control unit. Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Touch button(s) "Adr. 1" to "Adr. 4" or "All" to select the addresses of the control units to be controlled (addressed operation only). 2 Touch one of the following buttons: • • • • "Color": light colour (RGB mode) "Color Temp.": colour temperature (tuneable white operation) "Color Brightness": brightness (RGB mode) "Color Temp. Brightness": brightness (tuneable white operation) Setting the colour of the operating LED The operating LED of the front frame can be set to one of 12 different colours. Proceed as follows: Step XII 2010 Activity 1 Touch the "LED Colour" button. 2 Touch the arrow buttons of the "Bar Color" button to change the colour. 19 EASY Touch Panel Configuration Troubleshooting Fault Possible cause Elimination Display remains dark. No power supply. Check whether the operating LED in the front frame is lit. If necessary, create the power supply. Operating elements cannot be operated reliably. Touch detection is not operating correctly. Recalibrate the Touch Panel via the Service screen. Connected control units do not react to Touch Panel operation even in case of central commands. There is no master or there are multiple masters in the system. De-energise the system and check the master/slave configuration of all control units. Ensure that only one master exists. The firmware of the control unit is not current. (Only firmware versions 5.0 or higher are compatible) 20 Check the firmware version with the EASY PC software and perform a firmware update using the EASY Updater if necessary. Connected control units can be controlled centrally but not individually. Addresses (1...4) were not assigned in advance for the individual control units via the EASY PC software. Check the addresses of the control units via the EASY PC software.. Ensure that the right address is selected for assigning the function to the corresponding screen elements. Relay contacts for switching non-dimmable consumers do not remain closed permanently. The corresponding relays are configured for blind operation. Change the DIP switch setting. Changing of the colour temperature via the "Color Temp." operating element does not operate as expected. Illuminant is incorrectly connected. Connect warm white illuminant to channel 1, cold white illuminant to channel 3 of the corresponding control unit. Changing of the light colour via the "Color" operating element does not operate as expected. Illuminant is incorrectly connected. Connect the red illuminant to channel 1, green illuminant to channel 2 and blue illuminant to channel 3 of the corresponding control unit. XII 2010 EASY Touch Panel Operation Operation Principle The unit is operated by briefly touching operating elements (e.g. to call up a light scene) or by touching them for an extended period (e.g. dimming). The operating element is highlighted and the activation is confirmed by clicking. The function depends on the type and configuration of the operating element, see “Configuration”. The operating elements are distributed on no more than three screen pages, which can be opened using the arrow buttons on the task bar. Screen page Task bar Calling up/saving a light scene • • Call up a light scene: briefly touch the operating element. Save a light scene: press the operating element for an extended period until the lighting flashes to confirm (precondition: scene storage has been enabled). Note: The position of the blinds/screens, which are controlled via integrated relays, can only be restored by calling up light scenes directly via the Touch Panel. If the position of the blinds or screens should be stored, the respective relay must be closed when the setting is stored, i.e. the light scene must be stored within 90 seconds after the extended pressure on the blind operating element ends. Starting and stopping a sequence XII 2010 • Start a sequence: briefly touch the "Play" operating element. • Stop a sequence: briefly touch the "Stop" operating element. 21 EASY Touch Panel Operation Switching luminaires/relays • • Switch on: briefly touch the "I" symbol. • Increase brightness: press upper arrow symbol for an extended period. • • Switch to 100%: briefly touch the upper arrow symbol. • Switch off: briefly press the lower arrow symbol. Switch off: briefly touch the "0" symbol. Dimming luminaires Reduce brightness: press lower arrow symbol for an extended period. Controlling the blind/screen • Move up/down: press the upper or lower arrow button for an extended period. If the arrow symbol is pressed for longer than 3 s, the relay remains closed for 90 s and the blind/screen automatically moves to the limit position. • • Stop: briefly press the arrow symbol for the opposite direction. Open/close the blind slats: briefly touch the upper or lower arrow symbol. Changing the light colour or colour temperature 22 • Change the light colour (RGB mode): press the "+" or "-" symbol for an extended period until the required colour is reached. • Change the colour temperature (tuneable white mode):. Press "+" symbol for an extended period to reduce the colour temperature (= warmer light).. Press the "-" symbol for an extended period to increase the colour temperature (= colder light). Proceed as follows to open and close the Service screen: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Setup" button. Note: . The "Setup" button is only displayed when DIP switch 1 is set to "ON"; otherwise, the Setup screen is locked for users. Querying the firmware version and DIP switch setting Proceed as follows: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Info" button. The firmware version and DIP switch setting are displayed. 24 XII 2010 EASY Touch Panel Service functions Updating the firmware Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Save the current configuration of the Touch Panel on an SD card, see "Saving the configuration on an SD card/loading from an SD card". 2 Download the current firmware (http://www.osram.com/lms) and save it on an SD card. 3 Insert the SD card with the current firmware into the SD card slot of the Touch Panel. 4 Touch the "Update Firmware" button. The firmware versions of the Touch Panel and on the SD card are displayed. If the two versions differ, the firmware of the Touch Panel is updated automatically. 5 Take the SD card back out of the slot. Calibrating touch detection It may be necessary to calibrate touch detection if detection becomes imprecise due to temperature fluctuations, for example. Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Touch the "Calibrate Touch Screen" button. 2 Touch the displayed screen points one after the other as precisely as possible. Touch detection is recalibrated when the procedure is completed. Resetting the configuration to the default settings The configuration of the Touch Panel can be reset to the default settings. This procedure deletes the current configuration of the operating elements (see “Configuration”). Proceed as follows: Step 1 XII 2010 Activity If necessary, save the current configuration of the Touch Panel on an SD card, see "Saving the configuration on an SD card/loading from an SD card". 25 EASY Touch Panel Service functions Step 2 Activity Touch the "Reset Button Config" button. The Touch Panel configuration is reset. Saving the configuration on an SD card/loading from an SD card An SD card can be used to save and reload up to 9 different configurations (see “Configuration”). This can be used to copy configurations from one Touch Panel to another. Note: . All settings are stored in the Touch Panel itself, even in the event of lengthy power supply interruptions. For this reason, an SD card is not needed for operation. Saving configuration A configuration can be saved on an SD card under one of the fixed file names . (config01.tsf … config09.tsf). Note: . Existing configuration files on the SD card with the same file name are overwritten. Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 Select the file name by touching the arrow symbols. 2 Touch the "Save Settings" button. The configuration is stored on the SD card. 26 XII 2010 EASY Touch Panel Service functions Loading a configuration Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 The current configuration is overwritten when a new configuration is loaded. If necessary, save the current Touch Panel configuration on an SD card, see "Saving the configuration". 2 Insert the SD card containing the required configuration into the SD card slot of the Touch Panel. 3 Select the file name by touching the arrow symbols. 4 Touch the "Load Settings" button. The configuration is loaded. After the loading procedure is completed, the Touch Panel automatically changes back to the operating screen. 5 Take the SD card back out of the slot and keep it in a safe place. Deactivating the integrated DALI EASY control unit The integrated DALI EASY control unit can be deactivated if it is not required (e.g. if only OT EASY LED operating units are to be controlled). Proceed as follows: Step 1 Activity Touch the "Control Unit Enable" button. • • XII 2010 Dark grey = control unit deactivated (default settings) Light grey = control unit activated 27 EASY Touch Panel Service functions Resetting the configurations of all control units to the default settings You can reset the configurations of all integrated and connected control units to the default settings. Proceed as follows: Step Activity 1 If necessary, store the current configurations of the control units with the EASY PC software. 2 Touch the "Reset Control Units" button. All control units are reset to the default settings.
