The new coomponents will be available in two specificatio ons: the com mmercial-grrade FG serries and thee automotive-grade FA A serie es. Unlike co onventional products, tthe new serries do not use u halogenn as a flame e retardant in the e external resin coating g, thus supp porting the design of environmenttally friendly y appliications. Ma ass producttion will be l aunched in April 2015. The ccommercial-grade FG series cove ers a wide rated r voltage range of 66.3 V to 630 0 V, and a capa acitance ran nge of 1 pF to 100 μF, w while the au utomotive-g grade FA seeries is available with rated d voltages frrom 25 V to o 630 V and d rated capa acitance values from 1000 pF to 22 2 μF. The lineu up of the FA A series feattures MLCC Cs with NP0 0 and X8R temperaturee characteristics, which are designed for high h temperatu ure environm ments of up p to +150 °C C. In additio on, this serie es is qualifie ed to AEC-Q Q200. The use of leaded MLCCs in automotiive electron nics is growing. Modernn cars can incorporate as m many as 100 0 small electtric motors or more in order o to sattisfy the groowing dema ands for more e safety and d driving com mfort. Lead ded MLCCs with welded or crimpeed connectio ons are widely used in order o to sup ppress EMI ccaused by these t motors. Noise coountermeas sures for such h compact electric e moto ors are boun nd to becom me even mo ore importannt in future, and TDK is continuously expanding e its i lineup off suitable co omponents. * Chlo orine and brom mine content: max. 900 ppm m each or max x. 1500 ppm to otal ----sary Gloss • TD DK leaded ML LCCs: Resin n coating MLC CCs with rad dial leads • NP P0 characteriistics: Tempe erature range e of -55 °C to o +150 °C (2 25 °C standaard), tempera ature coe efficient of ca apacitance of o 0 ±30 ppm m/K • X8 8R characteriistics: Tempe erature range o +150 °C (2 25 °C standaard), capacita ance change e of -55 °C to ±15% TDK C Corporation 1/ 3 Main application ns • • • • MI suppressio on in various s automotive electric motors EM Re esonance circcuits in keyle ess entry sysstems Byypass capacittor, smoothin ng capacitor and similar in i SMPS Sn nubber circuitts and PFC input filters Main features an nd benefits • • • • • alogen-free to o support the e design of e environmenta ally friendly applications a Ha Wide rated volttage range frrom 6.3 V to 630 V oad rated ca apacitance ra ange from 1 p pF to 100 μF F Bro De esigned for harsh environ nmental cond ditions with te emperature of o up to +1500 °C Au utomotive-gra ade series is qualified to A AEC-Q200 (automotive-g ( grade FA se ries) data Key d Commercial-grade FG series * Dimensions [m mm] Rated volttage [V] C Capacitance e [[F] FG18 8/FG28 FG14 4/FG24 FG16 6/FG26 FG11 1/FG20 FG22 2 4..0 x 5.5 x 2.5 5 4..5 x 5.5 x 3.0 0 5..5 x 6.0 x 3.5 5 5..5 x 7.0 x 4.0 0 7..5 x 8.0 x 4.5 5 10 to 250 10 to 450 6.3 to 630 6.3 to 630 6.3 to 630 1 pF to 22 μF F 1100 pF to 47 7 μF 1100 pF to 10 00 μF 115 nF to 47 μF μ 447 nF to 100 0 μF * Third d character off the type designation indica ates lead spac cing: "1" = 2.5 mm, "2" = 5 m mm Auto omotive-grad de FA se eries * Dimensions [m mm] Rated volttage [V] C Capacitance e [[F] FA18 8/FA28 FA14 4/FA24 FA16 6/FA26 FA11/FA20 FA22 2 4..0 x 5.5 x 2.5 5 4..5 x 5.5 x 3.0 0 5..5 x 6.0 x 3.5 5 5..5 x 7.0 x 4.0 0 7..5 x 8.0 x 4.5 5 25 to 250 25 to 450 25 to 630 25 to 630 25 to 630 1100 pF to 1 μF μ 1100 pF to 4.7 7 μF 1100 pF to 10 0 μF 115 nF to 10 μF μ 447 nF to 22 μF μ * Third d character off the type designation indica ates lead spac cing: "1" = 2.5 mm, "2" = 5 m mm ----- TDK C Corporation 2/ 3 Abou ut TDK Corp poration TDK Corporation is a leading electronics ccompany bas sed in Tokyo o, Japan.
