Three-Year Limited Warranty
Measurement Specialties, Inc. warrants this product against defects
in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from date of
shipment. During the warranty period, Measurement Specialties will, at
its option, either repair or replace products which prove to be defective.
Exclusions
This warranty does not apply to defects or damage resulting from:
•Improper installation or maintenance
•Customer supplied software or interfacing
•Unauthorized modification or misuse
•Operation outside of the product specifications
Limitations
The warranty set forth above is exclusive and no other warranty,
whether written or oral, is expressed or implied. Measurement
Specialties specifically disclaims the implied warranties of
merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied
warranty lasts, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to
you. However, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness is
limited to the three-year duration of this written warranty.
Warranty Service
To obtain service during the warranty period, products must be returned,
transportation prepaid, to Measurement Specialties.

Mounting Instructions
►Use
►
two 3.0 mm x 0.5 mm thread machine screws to attach to
one of the three 34207A mounting faces [recommended torque
5 lbf-in (0.56 N.m)]. DO NOT thread a screw more than 2.5
mm (0.100 inch or 5 turns) into any 34207A mounting face
as this can damage the accelerometer and will VOID the
warranty.
►A
► light film of oil or silicone grease can be used to enhance
contact between two mounting surfaces.
►A
► locking compound should be used on all threads to prevent
screws loosening due to vibrations.

CAUTION
Improper wiring, particularly Power, may cause
permanent damage and void the warranty.
Pins other than +Vs should not exceed 5 V.
►Connect
►
a differential or floating input A/D converter
to each signal and signal common pins (pins 1 and 2 for
Accelerometer 1, pins 3 and 2 for Accelerometer 2, pins 5 and
2 for Accelerometer 3 and pins 6 and 2 for Temperature). For
best results, use a converter with an input impedance greater
than 1 MΩ and common mode rejection ratio greater than
60 dB. Single-ended converters are not recommended but if
used, leave pin 2 unconnected to eliminate ground loops. A
positive acceleration (labeled on the accelerometer cover)
causes a positive change on the corresponding output.
►Keep
►
cable lengths between the accelerometer and A/D
converter as short as practical. Use shielded twisted pair
wiring, especially near electric motors or other noise sources.
►As
► a rule of thumb, sample frequency should be at least
10 times the signal bandwidth when linear interpolation is
used for signal reconstruction. Built-in or external low-pass
filtering can be used to lower the noise floor and eliminate
spurious peak measurements from short-duration shock
impulses with insignificant energy content.
►A
► logic 0 on the self-test input will add to accelerometer
outputs (see calibration certificate for amount). An output that
changes significantly more or less (±20%) than the certificate
amount indicates a defective channel, shorted pin or broken
wire. The self-test signal is approximate and should not be
used for calibration. If the self-test feature will not be used,
pin 7 may be left disconnected.
