Edco 5W8-30 Two Pair Data/Signal Line Power The Edco 5W8-30 is an access control protection module designed for typical Wiegand outputs for access devices. This is a 5-wire module that accommodates low voltage data lines for 5 VDC circuits. Fifth wire power protection will allow up to 24 VDC. In addition, sneak and fault currents are mitigated with resettable fuses (PTCs). The PTCs increase resistance several orders of magnitude when over-currents exceed safe levels. A normal state resumes when over-currents are removed. The ability to self restore in this manner significantly increases suppressor performance and survivability.
